My power core (on my computer) went out last week with no notice. I have been on the slowest backup imaginable since then, so I'm a little late formatting the recipes for the enchanted fairytales...including Magical Garden.
Now, the good news! While I was waiting, I decided to work on the audiobook for Always North (our third Enchanted Fairytale) with our narrator. She's doing a lovely job, but I realized I FORGOT to add a crucial detail to the story.Â
So, I'll be sending out a new version of the Magical Garden ebook as soon as my computer is back (hopefully by the end of this week), and I will be adding this little detail AND the recipe. This is for all the ebooks, and of course, the paperbacks. Â
I want to thank you all SO MUCH for your patience in this campaign. This was our first BackerKit and it was definitely a learning experience, but I'm so glad we tried it! The company is great and the staff amazing. So, I hope you all have a wonderful week...and I will email you as soon as the new version is ready.
By the way, the detail won't really matter if you have NOT read Always North, but if you have...I hope it makes the story a little more fun.

I wondering about the kickstarter shipping philosopy. Brandon is primarily a author. Why then should fans wanting the book have to wait for everybody who wants the trinketry and glass beads? According to the updates the books have been waiting on the shelves for months. First the customers who want the book have to wait for the non essentials, and then they are put last in the shipping queue. I love leatherbound books, but many hate it do to vegetarian-ESG even if its gonna last a century. At the same time they love trinkets which will find the bin in a few years. Its amazes me.
The last update is confusing me. It says that secret project rewards won't ship until mid 2025? but $325 tier will ship during this wave? Don't the $325 tier include the secret project? I am stumped... lol
I did it! The layout for the book in both languages is done and a final proof read for the English version is happening atm, the German version is final and I am waiting to receive a test print I ordered. Once I get it I will take some pics and write another update :-) The Oracle Cards came in too so we are only waiting for the bookmarks to have the physical items completely designed and ready for production.
The images with the character art will be printed in this special edition, one in the front and one in the back of the book and I also added a glossary and a list of characters. And the complete book will have black and white illustrations, 34 total. I can't wait for you to see them in the final book.
Time is running out but I am still determined to deliver the book to all of you for Christmas but it depends on some things I can't control - but I will do my best.

ich habe es geschafft! Das Layout für das Buch in beiden Sprachen ist fertig und die englische Version wird gerade ein letztes Mal Korrektur gelesen. Die deutsche Version ist fertig und ich warte auf einen Testdruck, den ich bestellt habe. Sobald ich ihn habe, werde ich ein paar Fotos machen und ein weiteres Update schreiben :-) Die Orakelkarten sind auch eingetroffen, sodass wir nur noch auf die Lesezeichen warten müssen, um die physischen Elemente vollständig zu gestalten und für die Produktion vorzubereiten.
Die Bilder mit den Charakteren werden in dieser Sonderausgabe gedruckt, eines vorne und eines hinten im Buch, und ich habe auch ein Glossar und eine Liste der Charaktere hinzugefügt. Das gesamte Buch wird außerdem 34 Schwarz-Weiß-Illustrationen enthalten. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, dass ihr sie im fertigen Buch seht.
Die Zeit wird knapp, aber ich bin immer noch entschlossen, das Buch zu Weihnachten an euch alle zu liefern. Das hängt von einigen Dingen ab, die ich nicht kontrollieren kann – aber ich werde mein Bestes tun.

I just wanted to share some exciting news! I just finished the developmental edit for Star Awakened and submitted the manuscript to my editor. The book has grown from 86,000 words to 114,670!
That makes it officially bigger than Star Found!
And it'll be worth the wait for each of those words!Â
Next I wait for my editor to do the line/copy edits which is basically spelling, grammar, etc. I don't have an exact date yet, but I am hopeful for the 1st week of Dec to get it back if not sooner.Â
Once I get it back it's a matter of going through suggestions, accepting them and sending the manuscript to my proofreader. My editor will also do 2 proofreads.Â
Unfortunately, this might mean that we are still destined to finish it late Dec/early January. But we are working hard to get it done sooner.Â
On the plus side, the longer it takes, the more likely it is there might be more art while I wait for the editor and proofreader!Â
And while I want this book in your hands as soon as possible, I won't settle for less than perfection, or as close to it as possible.Â

The haunted dragons pre-order store just opened and we added 2 new pins which were just unlocked! Bringing the total to 15 pins!
Including "Spells" - the hexed bookish derpy and "Hektor" - a custom pin commission by a backer! And we are really close to unlocking the weirdling tribe collector pin!
While there's naturally a chance for skulls, these bookish derpies are more curious about life as a reader. From "one more chapter" to "TBR piles".Â

I can't believe we made it here! It's almost time to lock addresses and begin shipping rewards because the only thing left is to go through the proof copy of Blood Ties, send out eRewards, and order the physical copies of all the books!

As for the eBook and other eRewards, I'll be sending those out on 22 November, after I've read through the proof copy and can be sure you're getting the best version of the book possible. I was on vacation, so I'm a bit behind on that. But, don't worry, I didn't forget. You'll be able to read Blood Ties soon!

I want to get everything to you by the holidays, which means sending in the revised manuscript of the book by 22 November. I'm confident I can get this done, but it means you won't have the cover for my second full-length novel in the back of Blood Ties.Â

I could ship out rewards closer to January so ya'll receive everything by February, the original date this project was due.Â
Keep in mind that I have Apollycon in April, and Blood Ties will be available for purchase before the convention. In other words, the later you receive your rewards, the less time you have to enjoy it before its official release on 1 April 2025.
