Project Update: Choose thy Adventure - 04. Losing Track of Time

Hail and well met Wanderers,

The fates have heard your judgement, and return with news of Willow’s ever-changing destiny, along with a reminder that you can now get a real resin miniature of Willow! Either for free by
referring a friend, or by purchasing as an add-on. Now, onward with her fate…

Thou approacheth the ancient monument, and peering in attempt to divine its interior, though its depths seem occluded in darkness. What little you can see informs you that this entrance chamber holds broken boxes, tables and chairs, as well as a staircase leading upward.

Stepping within thy senses adjust to reveal a room bathed in dim silver light, though you notice that the doorway you entered from has also fallen strangely dark. Beyond you still see the trees and clearing, though now darkened. It is as if a veil of midnight fabric shades your vision out of the doorway. You elect to move with haste, and take what you can.

This entrance chamber has long been forgotten, visited only by travelling looters or curious wildlife. Though you do see a large map still pinned to the wall, likely of little use to most who have visited here before you. Retrieving the map you see it seems to depict a keep, and a passage way that travels beneath it, perhaps it will provide you a less obvious egress into the hags lair? You stow the map, intending to examine it more closely later (HIDDEN KNOWLEDGE GAINED: The Secret Entrance).

You then carefully travel up the crumbling stone staircase into the next floor, where a disheveled room occluded by rubble and root opens before you. The only point of interest appears to be an old ironwood desk, which you examine for anything that might remain. The draws are empty of items, but a peculiar blue moss looks to have taken up residence in the resilient wood of the darkened drawer space. Your broad knowledge of fae flora immediately presents you the name of this plant as Amser Moss, a rare form of moss that grows only where the laws of time have been tampered with (ITEM DISCOVERED: Amser Moss - Details below).

A sudden anxiety runs down your neck as you remember the plants preferred habitat, and with the rest of the tower above ruined beyond traversal, you quickly head downward to exit the tower and step through the darkened veil once more.

Cool night air washes upon thy face, and instead of the late afternoon sky you are greeted with the pale blue of midnight. The moon hangs low, bathing the treetops and clearing in silver light, and where once you heard bird song and wind you now hear strange calls and cries from creatures unfamiliar to you. The tower appears to have been maligned with some enchantment, who knows how many hours you have lost within its crumbled interior. It no longer matters, both the map and moss will likely prove more than worthy of the sacrifice. What matters now is what you do next!

You could seek out a camp spot in the woods? Though darkness will dampen thy senses. You could scale the tower and rest at its peak? Though the lack of light may make it treacherous. Or perhaps you could journey on, make up for lost time and rest later?”

WISE WITCH
Willow is Perceptive, and her senses may reveal more information. If thy wishes her to observe and listen for a moment before deciding, simply comment as such below. If enough join you, more information may be revealed! Though be warned, dallying longer in the open dark of Faerie is a risk that may open Willow up to more danger…

Thy will be done, Willow lingers in the open to gather more information from her surroundings!

Listening intently, thine sharp ears follow the sounds (or lack thereof) carried upon the wind. Bird song, even that of those more twilight of creatures, seems to hath fallen silent. Perhaps something dangerous stalks the skies, enough so that it hath driven the smaller of its ilk into hiding? Thou mayest have to contend with it should thou scale the tower. Something else carries with the wind, a smell not unfamiliar to you. Smoke, and with it the alluring promise of a campfire and company. Should you enter the wood you will likely be able to seek out its source, though not all who wander these woods do so with benevolent intent…”
