Project Update: Update 28: Digital Fulfillment

With most surveys locked and cards charged for add-ons, digital fulfillment has begun. Through Backerkit, you should have access to the PDF and relevant play materials as well as a link to Robyn Choi's amazing dice roller for the game. (No, I'm not entirely sure why there's two versions of everything. I may have goofed something up at some point, but as far as I can tell they're the same.)

I've also updated the version of the game available on itch.io and DTRPG, so previous purchasers should now have access to the most up-to-date version of the game. I'll also send out itch.io and DTRPG keys to you all within the next week or so. I'll distribute the digital hunt bundle soon as well.

  • 15 of you still have not completed your surveys. Please, please complete them! I want you to get your stuff!
  • There's a small handful of folks (like, less than a handful honesty) whose cards were declined or errored. You should get an email from BackerKit prompting you to fix that. If you update your card, BackerKit will automatically recharge you, otherwise I will manually re-try the cards in a few days and continue to do so once a week.
  • Books are currently in transit to IPR's warehouse and we'll be able to begin shipping within the next week or two. I'll update frequently on that process so there are no surprises.
  • I'm picking up the physical hunt pamphlets from the local printer tomorrow after work so those will start going out soon as well. As a reminder, those and the stickers will be sent out separately from the book but you will not be charged for shipping on those.

Finally, international backers: I hear you, and understand that the shipping estimates were disappointing. There's a lot that I've learned from doing this campaign, and one of those is that next time around (whenever that might be), I will look into every possible option to help keep shipping prices low, including options such as overseas printing and shipping partners, POD options for international backers, and anything else I might be able to do to help keep costs down. For full transparency, I did explore the option of either doing part of the printing with an overseas partner or using a European warehouse, but his project just wasn't big enough for either of those to make sense. The other part is that high shipping costs are unfortunately the norm right now, even with cost-cutting measures, and that just straight up fuckin' sucks. I've even heard some of you say that if shipping costs don't go down, you aren't going to be able to continue backing TTRPG crowdfunding campaigns. I'm sure none of us in this hobby want that to happen, and at the same time at this level there is so little that we are actually able to do. It's a hard place for all of us to be in, and I hope that things get better soon, rather than everything just continuing to get more and more expensive for everyone. Once we are ready to start shipping, I'll have a better sense of the most up-to-date shipping costs and I will continue to look into whether there is anything else I can do to help lower costs for international backers.
