Project Update: Thirteen Parsecs: Update on Shipping Issues
Morning, everyone!
So I've (miraculously) been able to work with BackerKit to get a reasonable resolution to the shipping issues. Here's how it's going to break down.
First, nobody's card has been charged yet. That will happen when the surveys are done.
Second, please complete the survey fully. That includes the shipping charges.
Shipping WILL now be charged through BackerKit. We are going to change the wording of question 3 to clarify this - Domestic shipping is $7, and International shipping for non-PoD buyers will be $45. You will not be billed separately for shipping.
International PoD Backers will have the shipping charges wiped out by BackerKit before cards are charged. That's the most important thing. If you are international and you want a PoD softcover to avoid shipping charges, you will not be charged shipping even though the survey currently says you will. If for some reason you do, I will refund the shipping charges. But BackerKit has been able to create a backend solution that should wipe out shipping charges for international backers who choose the PoD via Lulu option.
A final clarification: PoD is being done through Lulu. It looks for some reason like it's saying DTRPG on the survey options - this must have been something I previously worded somewhere. I just wanted to clarify that. We're using Lulu, not DTRPG for PoD. PDFs will still be sent through DTRPG.
I apologize again for the confusion, and I hope this clarifies/cleans things up. We are rocketing towards fulfillment, with over 65% of surveys completed already! With any luck, you'll all have your PDFs by the end of September after all, and we'll just have to wait for the print editions!
