Project Update: IMPORTANT UPDATE!!! Surveys are out but some International backers may be charged shipping

Good morning, everyone!

Surveys went out this morning. I have received a message from one of our international backers this morning that he is being charged shipping through BK even though he's not supposed to be (BackerKit's support GUARANTEED me that wouldn't happen).

Sigh. It's always something with this platform.

IF you get charged shipping for this through BackerKit, please do the following:

Complete the Survey all the way through. If you CAN, pay the shipping charge. If you CANNOT pay the shipping charge, drop me a line and we will see what we can do about getting you taken care of without finishing the survey.
Send an email to [email protected] with a screenshot of the charge page (obviously blur out/don't include your credit card information) showing me that you had to pay the $45 or whatever it was.
I will REFUND you the difference via PayPal as soon as the funds hit my account. For International Backers who choose normal shipping, this will be $5. For those who choose PoD printing, it will be the full $45.

Hopefully this is not happening to domestic backers, but if it is, I will credit whatever you pay to BackerKit against the shipping costs (which should end up being a zero balance, and I don't have to bill you through PayPal, so bonus).

I sincerely apologize for this - I was guaranteed that BackerKit would NOT be charging shipping, and on my end when I test the surveys, everything seems to work fine (It appears to credit the backer with the cost of shipping at the outset - so if you pledged at $40, it shows you paid $85 and leaves you a $0 balance).

Thanks for understanding and thanks for your patience. I hate that this makes me look bad; we've never had an issue crop up like this before, and I sincerely hope it doesn't sour anyone on Elf Lair Games in the future. We'll definitely be heading back to Kickstarter after this one is done!
