Project Update: Dungeon Randomizer, More Relics, More Riddles, Last Week!
With 1 week to go, we're up to 440% funding, closing in on 3000 backers, and more stretch goals on the horizon! Hurray for all of these things.
On today's dev stream, we talked about the newly unlocked Dungeon Randomizer, showed a couple relics, and went over Riddle answers:
Dungeon Randomizer
This is a fun stretch goal! When I initially thought of the concept, I thought it would develop out as fragmented floors - one floor from one dungeon, a second from another, etc. Turns out, that sounds better than it is in practice. Did not work well - instead, we're randomizing what's *in* each dungeon, so it's turned out a bit more as Dungeon Variants, but it's still a cool concept. Each copy of the Abyssal Trove will have a pack of dungeon cards, all of which are varied alternate versions of existing dungeons. When selecting the Yeti's Cavern, you'll randomly choose one of the three versions of it (tentatively titled A B C, but that will likely change)

As you can see, there're similar concepts but different boxes and modified effects. But it's not just the dungeon that's changed the boss is different as well! There's lots of balancing work to be done here, but we think you'll have fun enjoying even more ways to play Dungeon with now up to 50 different dungeon/boss cards!
Relics
We also are testing two more relics this week, the Map of Destiny, and the Obsidian Hammer. The Hammer is a low-complexity relic, with a simple spend stuff/get stuff economy. It's important to have these in Relics, especially for players coming to it as a first-ever Dungeon set. We want to have a good mix of complexity levels. The Map of Destiny is definitely on the higher complexity side. It plays around with how doors and exploration work.
Riddle #9 Solution
Riddle 9's foxy premise was months of the year! Each of the words in the answer options started with the same letter as one of the months on your modern day calendar, and they were organized into trios. JFM goes with January, February, March, and was the correct answer. Good luck on Riddle #10!
