Greetings!

Welcome to our campaign for One Deck Dungeon: Relics of the Forge, a new stand-alone expansion for our roguelike dice+cards dungeon crawler, One Deck Dungeon. If you're new to One Deck Dungeon, welcome! If you're an experienced Dungeon delver, welcome back! Either way, we think you'll love what we have here.

Additionally, we've upgraded the mini-expansion Abyssal Depths into the Abyssal Trove, a box that also contains lots of bonus content, including ALL the promos from the past. And, if you've already got Abyssal Depths, we're offering a version of the Trove that's a bit cheaper and has just the new stuff!

Finally, we have created the One Deck Dungeon Vault. The Ooze is very excited about it.

The Vault contains One Deck Dungeon, Forest of Shadows, the Abyssal Trove, and the new Relics of the Forge expansion. Want everything all at once in a sweet collector's box? The Vault is for you!

Everything in this campaign is available in Standard or Deluxe versions. Deluxe versions have the same content, but all cards (encounters, heroes, etc) are made out of waterproof plastic material. Deluxe versions are only available through this campaign!

Much like One Deck Dungeon, you've got a lot of options on how to back this campaign! Here're the core options available:

See the Pledge Levels & Add Ons section for a comprehensive list of options!

What is One Deck Dungeon?

One Deck Dungeon is a 1-2 player cooperative dungeon crawler, where the entire dungeon (Monsters, Loot, Skills) is represented by a deck of cards. A game takes 30-60 minutes to play, and you can play with any of the three stand-alone sets (One Deck Dungeon, Forest of Shadows, Relics of the Forge) on their own. You can mix and match sets, and even combine sets to reach up to 6 players!

During each encounter, your hero will get to roll dice based on her stats and items. These dice can be modified by skills, relics, and heroic feats, and then placed in boxes on the encounter card to represent effort spent beating up baddies or overcoming perils.

Once you've placed all the dice you can, it's time for the consequences of the encounter. Each box you didn't fill will deal damage, cost you precious time, or both! Suffer too much damage, and your time in the dungeon will be over. Spend too much time, and you'll be forced down to the next floor of the dungeon - which is even more dangerous!

After dealing with the consequences of the encounter, you'll get to claim the encounter card as Loot. You  tuck the encounter card under the left or bottom edge of your Hero card to give you an item (more stats!) or a skill (more ways to modify your dice!). If you don't want either of those, it'll become XP. Get enough of that, and you'll level up!

Your ultimate goal is to make it through three floors of the dungeon you're facing (three shuffles of the deck), and then defeat the Boss. Each dungeon has its own rules and boss, and you'll have to devise different strategies each time you play in order to succeed.

One Deck Dungeon is challenging! You probably won't win your first game, and you might not win your second or third. Luckily, each time you play you'll earn progress toward unlocking talents on your Campaign Sheet, which will help you on your next dungeon dive.

Relics of the Forge: Mechanics

Our new expansion introduces two new concepts, and they're both in the title of the expansion: Relics, and The Forge. Sadly, the mechanic for the final word, Of, would require at least 200 miniatures - and they wouldn't fit in the box. In addition to new mechanics, we've got all-new Heroes, Dungeons, and Encounters.

As a full stand-alone expansion, Relics of the Forge contains 44 Encounter cards, 4 Heroes, 4 Dungeons, 8 Relics, 30 Dice, and a number of tokens for health, potions, and the new mechanics below. Stretch goals will potentially add more Heroes, Dungeons, and Relics to the game.

Note: The graphic design of the Forge and Relics cards and their gameplay balance are still works in progress. As we continue playtesting this summer, they will continue to evolve and we'll create final art and templates for them. Join our weekly Friday Dev Streams for a peek into the process!

During setup, after you choose a Hero and a Dungeon, you'll now choose a Relic as well. This Relic will be with you for the entire game, and will help shape your strategies throughout your adventure. It is placed next to your Hero card.

You will use your Relics (and other abilities) to gain fuel. Fuel is represented by Heroic (black) dice stored on the Forge. Each pip showing on these dice counts as 1 unit of fuel. All of the relics produce fuel in unique ways, often requiring you to expend other resources. To succeed, you have to balance your efforts combatting foes and facing perils with acquiring fuel.

Each time you reach 12 or more fuel, the Forge will consume fuel to produce rewards. You will be rewarded with Crystals, Heroic Dice, and Crits, all of which are stored on your relic.

When using Relics, the power of the Forge replaces the Encounter Bonus from previous sets' XP Level cards. You'll be able to choose when you spend your relic tokens, crits, bumps, and stored dice to overcome the most potent challenges in the dungeon. Play cleverly and you'll go far!

On Launch Day, we did a stream showing many cards from Relics of the Forge, and talked more about the mechanics. Recordings of all our streams are in the Streams section below.

The Vault

The Vault is our all-inclusive box set for everything One Deck Dungeon we've ever made. This box includes each of the One Deck Dungeon sets in their individual boxes, so if you want to take their compact packaging out on an adventure in the Real World, you can still do that. The Vault box opens up like any door from the Dungeon - here's a mockup of how it'll function!

Note: If you don't have a magic user at your table to make the gem glow, you can open the box top manually.

The Vault is available in either standard or deluxe (plastic cards) versions, and this campaign is the only time you'll be able to get the Deluxe version. Empty Vault boxes and the individual Abyssal Trove box (in Standard or Deluxe) are also available as add-ons. More on the Trove below!
Edit

Abyssal Trove

In addition to the two existing One Deck Dungeon sets and the new Relics of the Forge, the Vault contains a new box titled the Abyssal Trove. The Trove contains the Abyssal Depths expansion, plus lots of bonus content. You may have noticed in the Vault graphic that you can now play with up to 6 players! The Trove will contain a 3-6 player handbook with brand new rules for larger groups.

We'll be revealing more about the content and new game modes in the Abyssal Trove during our Friday Dev Streams. Tune in or catch the recaps!

If you've already got Abyssal Depths, you can add-on the Abyssal-less Trove, which is everything above *except* for Abyssal Depths.

The Trove is available in either standard or deluxe (plastic cards) versions, and this campaign is the only time you'll be able to get the Deluxe version.

Pledge Levels and Add-Ons

In all the levels and add-ons below, "Deluxe" editions replace all cards (both dungeon + hero cards) with plastic waterproof cards.

Retailer and Group Pledges

If you're a store or group looking to buy in bulk, we have a $1 tier called "Retailer/Group Level".

Backing at that tier will unlock the ability to add-on cases of 12 copies of Relics of the Forge (Standard: $180 / Deluxe: $360) or cases of 6 copies of the Vault (Standard: $270 / Deluxe: $480).

Note: For VAT-related reasons, group and retailer pledges to Europe will be handled post-campaign. You can back at the $1 level and we'll deal with the details with each of you directly during the Pledge Manager phase.

If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected]!

Stretch Goals

Our stretch goals for this campaign are based on backer count! Anyone who joins our campaign for any amount can help reach new goals. Each reached stretch goal will be included in every copy of either Relics of the Forge, or the Abyssal Trove, as indicated in the table.

Relics of the Forge has 4(+1 = 5) Heroes, 4 Dungeons, and 8(+2 = 10) Relics, counting the stretch Stretch Goals we've reached below.

Unlocked relics will be named after the top performing Trivia Challenge teams. The top 1(+2 = 3) teams' relics will be part of the game! Each +1 Relic goal will extend that to more teams!

Shipping

Shipping will not be charged until the pledge manager phase. The shipping values below are an estimate. When we're close to fulfillment and ready to charge for shipping, we'll calculate final costs. Right now, rates for both shipping and freight are quite high and we expect those to start falling after year-end. These estimates take that expectation into account. Fingers crossed that shipping rates are reasonable in 2025!

Sales tax, VAT and shipping will be charged during the pledge manager, post-campaign. Games will ship from hubs around the world, including Europe (France + UK), Australia, China, Canada, and the US.

This table has three values per region: One game, One vault, and One Case (either 6x Vault or 12x Relics). These are, again, estimates. In general, the more stuff is in a package, the better the shipping deal is. Small packages are disproportionately costly right now.
