Project Update: Fulfillment Update

Greetings Backers,

Thanks again for your support. The finish line is in sight!
Today, 30 packages went out. I'm out of stickers so those who ordered sticker packs or who qualified for the incentive may be waiting a couple extra days as the new ones are still on their way.

Everyone who doesn't get stickers is being fulfilled right now and then when the new stickers arrive, I can do the rest.

Keep your eyes out for the packages between today and Monday (some went out last week as well).

Atomic Altar Update

I think we've nailed down final hardware specs and some design specifics. We're going to go with quick disconnect wires on the outside of the enclosure as those seem to work pretty well. There is a pretty sensitive tilt sensor in the box and this should help keep PCs from blowing themselves up inadvertently.

I'm working to make the mechanism full featured without being overly complex both on the programming side and on the operation side.

Current design goals
  • Single push button, multiple timer modes
  • Clarification of what wire was pulled
  • Random text string replies to some operations (speed/slow timer, decoys, etc)
  • Ease of use (both for GM and players)

The internals are pretty much a nano board, a 1602 LCD, and 9v battery. We'll solder all the wires in place on the board and they'll stick out of the enclosures so they can be interacted with. There will be a single button that resets timer and wire assignments randomly. I think the timer feature will be push one, two or three times for 2 minute, 90 second, 1 minute timers. The rest of the operation is automatic by the unit itself.

Enclosure. I reached out to my friend and fellow creator, Frank T., who does 3D modeling about an enclosure. If I can't find a pre-made resource that is easily adaptable, I'll go that route. If not, then I'll be printing the enclosures here and as they're done I'll assemble and ship. We sold 15 units, WOO HOO! I'll probably have a couple units with me when I hit Cons and might even hand paint a couple to make them unique or slap some stickers on them or both!

When you get yours and decide to customize it, I'd love to see pictures!
