Project Update: Fulfillment starts soon! Orders & Addresses Locking, Card Charging Begins
It is time to get to work on fulfillment!
You may have received a few emails. Namely a warning that orders and addresses are being locked down, and that cards are being charged. Everything but the Mega Jumbo Comet, custom dragons, and the corrected Eclipse are in-hand so I am eager to get to work!
40 Card Charges Failed
That is not an insignificant number! I will be attempting to recharge these cards on a weekly basis starting now. If your card charge failed, please have sufficient funds added to it ASAP or change your card on file! I do not currently have a set date for when I will be canceling items waiting on failed payments, but if you have a failed charge I cannot guarantee October fulfillment or even something like pre-Christmas arrival.
I will be working very hard throughout the month to fulfill orders
It is mostly going to be me working on my own and it is hundreds of orders with sizeable pieces, so I anticipate the following problems and have intended solutions for each:
Possible Slowdown 1:
My town post office is a teeny tiny one room affair that only has a single box truck visit it once per day for pickup! I have filled their entire truck with just standard shop operations before. Basically the sheer volume of packages can get bottlenecked by the physical space they can occupy.
Solution: I have budgeted to rent a cargo van to drive them to the city and drop them off at a larger facility in case the backup becomes severe.

Possible Slowdown 2:
I live with chronic pain and mobility issues. In the worst cases I can lose use of my legs temporarily or, more rarely, lose practical use of my hands. This can stop me from being able to move boxes of stock from storage to where I am staging the fulfillment area, and may stop me from being able to do small mechanical tasks.
Solution: I plan to build 1 additional rest day in to my work week, I will be enlisting my wife's help if I am ever laid up for more than 1 work day, and I am making an effort to stagger how much of each stage I do to avoid repetition injuries.
Possible Slowdown 3:
If I make 1 too many mistakes while packaging I might not end up with enough polybags, inserts, or printer labels to take care of everything. I've run in to this issue with large numbers of pre-orders before since it really is kind of hard to tell until you're in the thick of it.
Solution: I have budgeted for multiple emergency orders with overnight shipping. That said, I have already over-ordered intentionally, so we should be all set here.

Sorry for all these words-y updates lately, but if this is too much simply know:
WE ARE IN THE HOME STRETCH AND YOUR DRAGONS WILL BE ARRIVING SOON!
