Project Update: Wasteland Degenerates JCE Post Campaign #14: Books In-Hand!

 Hey Degenerates,

You may have seen that I picked up the books from the printer on Friday... if you didn't, here's 700 pounds (317.5 kg) of Wasteland Degenerates in a Subaru:
That's a lot of degeneracy...

The weather held up and I recovered from my ordeal yesterday.  Today I've been learning the ins and outs of BackerKit postage, and I'm going to have to do some testing of various package types to determine how much goodness I can cram into each type of envelope.

For reference, this is every item I'm sending out:
The end of the beginning... begins!

The final results all look great, with vibrant colors and no discernable defects.

I expect to have some results from the experimentation sometime this week, at which point I will proceed to buying the postage and starting fulfillment.

Hardcover Kickstarter Still On-Track for February 25th

If you want to help out, and haven't already, please go to the Wasteland Degenerates hardcover Kickstarter page and click on "Notify me on launch."  Not only will you get first dibs on the Early Bird bonuses, but you'll help Kickstarter know that we're a property worth watching (and promoting!).  We've already got an incredible 418 Followers, but I want to get that number up to at least 666 by the time we go live!  Even if you don't plan on backing the hardcover edition, following the Kickstarters is a free and easy thing that helps me enormously!  As an added benefit, interest in Mork Borgs and indie games also helps the next designer to come along.

-As an aside, I'm planning on sending a digital copy of the full hardcover edition to anyone who bought a physical Jumper Cable Edition once I've completed fulfillment on the upcoming campaign.  Thought you might want to know.-

Shilling for Homies

Speaking of helping indie designers, there's a few shout-outs I'd like to make.

Monochrome

I might not even be doing this if Christian Eichhorn hadn't shown the way.  There's still a day left to back Monochrome, a very clever black and white adventure about color being drawn from the world.
No color anymore, I want them to turn black.

Tangled in Shrouds

I don't know if you've seen any of my advertising for the upcoming Kickstarter, but I would have been a lost babe in the woods in terms of marketing without the masterful advice of Zac Goins.  Along with Snapback Game Studios, he's crowdfunding three awesome zines for Pirate Borg; Tangled in Shrouds, The The Repentant: Expanded, and Faction Relics!
I do love me some Pirate Borg.

Lead and Chrome

Finally, to shift gears a little, I'd like to mention a very cool NON-BORG crowdfunding project that caught my eye, Lead and Chrome by Noted Cool Guy Benjamin Palmer.
Very much a correct vibe.

I managed to look through a few pages of a pre-publish edition, and it's very much a complete game already, and well worth the pledge... even better, there's lots of stuff that can serve as inspiration for Wasteland Degenerates!  It's got mutants, looting, vehicle combat, the whole deal.  Check it out!
I got such old school feelings looking at this. I wish I'd had this book when I was a kid.

Anyway, that's all I have for you for now.

Keep your hazmat suit on and your shotgun handy; things are about to get very crazy in the Wasteland as soon as fulfillment begins!
