Project Update: June Update!

Weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen! Tis time for another update on how our crew be doin’ in these here dangerous waters. So grab yer best grub and grog and set sail!

Production Update

As we reported last time, the book is moving through copyediting at a great speed! We’re excited to let ya know that now all chapters, but one, are through copy editing and into layout. Layout is a dubious and time consumin’ process and may take a bit to get done, what with all the art and makin’ it pretty for ya. But never fear, me hearties. A book comes ever closer.

The remaining chapter should be moving through copyediting shortly. This means the book is written and all that remains is copy and layout. Whistler has been working their little heart out getting all the art done for each chapter. The art is nearly complete, with just a few more chapter images to go. Once that is done, those images will go into layout as well.

As mentioned previously, once everything has gone through layout, we’ll be sendin’ ya a preview so you can try your hand at adventures on the sea, catch any layout errors or typos we missed, and send us feedback on the book. Once that feedback phase is over, we’re on to handin’ files to the printer. We’ll talk more about the printin’ process once we sail closer to its shores.

Join us at Gen Con

If yer itchin’ to try the game with your crew, we’re running dozens of Rapscallion games at Gen Con in Indianapolis this August! Gen Con is from August 1 - 4. We’ve commandeered the entire third floor of the Hyatt in a brand new Magpie Games project called the Nest! So if yer headed that way in the heat of summer, come check us out and hang out with Team Magpie!

If yer attending and want to be running games of Rapscallion (or other Magpie Games games), we’re still looking for a handful of GMs to join the crew! Check out this form to climb on board!

Next Adventures

We’ll be back next month for another update on what all has been on happenin’ on the ship. We hope yer summer is off to grand adventures and dangerous treasure stealin’. Till the next time, me hearties.
