So, some actual update content here. Things have been a little hectic over here, but, I'm getting stickers situated for everyone while I wait for pins to arrive.
Real quick, I appreciate everyone who came by at Anthrocon. Things happen, but, you guys came through for me, and I hope I can meet you on better terms someday.
Anyways - BIRD CRIMES!
I will be locking addresses THIS SATURDAY (7/20). Did you place a BIRD CRIMES pledge while you were in college, and move out of your dorm before we're expecting to ship? Are you changing apartments? Did your PO box expire, or move? Please double check your address on BackerKit, and make sure we're sending your criminals to the correct correctional facility.
This is a reminder that I do NOT replace packages lost due to buyer error - this includes BackerKit pledges. If your birds get lost in migration, you will not only need to pay to replace them, you might be at the mercy of limited retail stock and post-campaign prices.
Do us both a favor, and go check your pledge before this weekend!
Our sample, sadly, still isn't looking like it needs to. The midtone gray ended up too light this time. We're getting back up off the ground, and trying a whole new color family this time around: thank you for being patient with me.
The final answer is, YES, we will be offering combined shipping for BIRD CRIMES + Backyard Birds!
There's a few more kinks we have to work out, but, if you opted in, you WILL have your items from both pledges sent at the same time. Saves us time, packaging, and saves energy and waste.
That said: there are a few catches.
One, your items will be shipping later than if you only backed Backyard Birds. Corvi's pins arrived a lot earlier than mine, and she has been ready to go for a bit. My initial timeline for late summer or early fall delivery is currently accurate.
Unfortunately, due to the delays with sampling, we are on the later end of what I would have wanted. I need the sepia colors on my BIRD CRIMES to look right, and we just aren't where we need to be just yet.
Two, we cannot offer credit card refunds for the second shipping fee. BUT - there are alternatives.
Because we had to kind of make things up as we went, we didn't have an efficient way for backers to pay one shipping fee for both campaigns. In the future, this is something I'd like to look into, but, for now, unfortunately, if you backed both projects, you paid shipping on both.
Without going too hard into the logistics, we will not offer most backers card refunds for shipping.
For INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: You can take $20 store credit on either KEN'S PIN HUSTLE or CORVIFORMS' stores. Please contact one of us with your backer #, and, if you time things right, we will be able to toss your store credit stuff in with your order as well. Or, you can opt in to the bonus below...
For USA BUYERS: Due to Stripe being a pain, and the fact you are almost all of the ~450 cross-collab backers, we are not able to offer refunds ($5-6). This would be a logistical nightmare for all three parties - both of us, and you. We are, by default, including a second cross-collab pin in USA buyers' pledge: Assault Blue Jay.
The Blue Jay is a full-sized 1.75" pin just like Corvid Crimes. He's functionally a second Pintopia bonus, worth a full retail pin price - about $14. This is our way to thank you guys for backing (again), and a happy medium for us.
If you are an international buyer and would like to switch to the BLUE JAY pin, please email me as soon as possible with your backer number. This Saturday (7/20) will be the last day to claim your jay.
I apologize for any inconvenience here. Corviforms and I have plans to work together again, so we'll be researching ways to avoid this situation in the future.
I'm not sure if our plush project will offer combined shipping, but any further pin projects where it's offered will NOT double-charge shipping if we can avoid it.
Finally, we are still cooking plush. We're about where we were last month, where little tiel is set, but big tiel needs some more work. I'll share these guys with you (plus the pins, stickers, and other goodies from the campaign...) as soon as I can.
