The Expanse Roleplaying Game: Transport Union Edition Special Edition Core Rulebook
Get fancy with the Special Edition of the new core rulebook! This campaign exclusive has the same great content as the Transport Union Edition but with a swanky foil stamped cloth cover, ribbon bookmark, and matching foiled edges. You can get the Special Edition as an add-on. If you’ve already chosen a pledge tier, you can upgrade your copy of the core rulebook to a Special Edition instead with The Expanse Special Edition Upgrade add-on.
One of the difficulties we had with offering this as an option for interested Backers was how to include it for folks who wanted this version of the book *instead* of the Standard Edition, but otherwise wanted the rest of whatever Pledge Level they backed the campaign for. Rather than duplicate any existing Pledge Levels, we decided that the best way to do this, would be to offer the Special Edition as a particular kind of Add-On.
If you so choose, you can now select the "Special Edition Upgrade" add-on to replace your existing Core Rulebook with the Special Edition instead. This upgrade will signal to us during fulfillment, to send you this version and NOT the Standard Edition.
If you want both versions, you can select the Special Edition all by itself as an additional book. Or additional Standard Editions if you would like, of course.
Here's how Chris Pramas explained it:
You can choose to get a whole new book for $85 or replace the standard edition with a Special Edition for an extra $25. For example, let’s say you’ve chosen the Fred Johnson pledge, which consists of the new core rulebook in print and PDF, plus a set of dice. If you choose The Expanse Core Rulebook Special Edition add-on, you will then get a Special Edition, a standard edition, a PDF, and a dice set. If you choose The Expanse Special Edition Upgrade add-on, you will get a Special Edition, a PDF, and a set of dice.
So if you just want one book? choose the Upgrade. If you want both? choose the full-price Special Edition.
