Project Update: Checking in: orders locked soon, new feature of the glasses uncovered, slight delay on lid transfer, shipping test to Dokomi
Hellooo everyone!
I'm just checking in to remind you all of your post-campaign surveys! Most of you have answered but some of you still haven't. Some of you have failed payments too, . In five days I will do the final counts and do the final order to fulfill all the pre-orders through this campaign. Until then you can still edit your survey!
That being said, due to a technical error there was a problem with the lid design transfer order, I got it resolved after talking to the company but the shipment shouldve been here already. It will likely arrive later this week or early next week so I will post the completed prototypes here asap. Please refer to the previous update to see the lid designs!
On a brighter note, I randomly found out that these glass cups are indeed suitable for drinking boba with tapioka spheres in it - the rubber piece on the lid is actually removable and if you remove it, the resulting hole is big enough for some boba straws! I am currently looking if I can find metal/glass boba straws that go well with it and if they're really affordable then I'd love to send you all some as extras.
And lastly, as some of you may know I went to Dokomi and took some of the glass cups (with the plain lids) with me! According to the survey, the most popular designs by far were the soda girls and Gyokuro - every design got a little bit of love (thank you!!!) but those five blew it out of the water and I took 4 of each to the con. They were absolutely loved and all but one single glass sold out within the first half of the con! I shipped them to Düsseldorf via the same postal service that I'll ship yours in and every single one arrived in perfect condition, so that means I got the packaging right for your orders! This was one of the biggest worries for me which is now lifted.
Thank you all again for making this project possible, I sincerely am so grateful and happy to have you as my supporters. Every single one of you, you are amazing!
