This is just crazy. I can't begin to say how incredibly thankful we are to the Shadowdark RPG and OSR community in general. Our team of artists, editors, collaborators, playtesters and everyone involved want to thank you so much for your pledges and kindness over the last several weeks as this Backerkit launched and then grew beyond our hopes. I was thinking we'd be lucky to hit 2K. And now look at you guys. Seriously. What the heckin' heck? I'm going to need to get back to editing and revisions tonight. Because we had better make this amazing for all of you awesome Shadowdarklings. (160+ pages of awesome. Woah!)
I'm going to take a moment to also thank all of the creators out there who gave us a shout out lately. First off, Will over at Menagerie Press has been a literal mentor to me during the entire Backerkit process and the guy really is a great collaborator to team up with on for Backerkit projects. I'm looking forward to doing more collaborations with him in the future. But in the meantime, definitely pick up your copy of The Pits Below cartoon that is coming soon! I can't wait to see it once it's ready. And hopefully everyone here will enjoy it too! (Plus you'll get a super awesome Righteous Vow art print available to you if you do!)
Next I wanted to say thank you to Bunni Daniel AKA the Dungeon Damsel for giving us a shout out and just for generally being a pretty awesome member of our Shadowdark community. We are super excited for her upcoming release called Druskara, and I don't think I need to tell you all just how hard we plan on smashing the pledge buttons once this project launches. (But just in case I do, we're gonna break some peripherals.)
Finally, I would like to thank Kelsey Dionne. She is so active in the community. Always popping in the discord to crack jokes and talk about Shadowdark with everyone, and she has opened a world of creativity for so many of us. This is the best ruleset I have encountered, it's the way I want to play RPGs, it's how I want to adventure, and I'm thankful for its existence. So, Kelsey, if you read this. THANK YOU! Please get ready for her Kickstarter which comes out in March. The new Cursed Scroll Zines #4,5 and 6 will be up for pre-order in March 11th, and I heard we might even get an alternate cover rulebook? (Don't quote me on that, but as a lover of DCC and variant covers...I hope it's true!)
Alright. Hopefully I have given everyone some new cool stuff to look forward to. Back to getting this zine done. I have a whole mess of people who are expecting some great stuff. I'm determined to make it so! -Bill
