Writer's Consultation with Amanda Marlowe
Amanda Marlowe is an author, poet, and certified Farland Fiction Writing Coach who has always dreamed of walking on other worlds. She applied several times to be an astronaut, but alas, never received that call from NASA. She also spent a lot of time searching for the fairy colonies that must be around here… somewhere. Since she isn’t currently able to discover genuine alien or magical societies, she explores imaginary ones.
Amanda originally focused on science education, teaching math and physics as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ghana. After receiving a doctorate in astrophysics, she taught astronomy as an adjunct professor. She then had a career as a science content editor for an educational publisher.
Now, when she is not figuring out ways to visit Mars, she writes science fiction and fantasy and helps authors to explore their own worlds. She has published both stories and poems and is an editor of Toasted Cheese Literary Magazine. As a fiction writing and mindset coach, Amanda mentors writers, enabling them to find ways to defeat the Dark Lord of Blank Pages and to free their stories from the Dungeons of Writer’s Block.
