Project Update: Nidhogg is done!
It has been a crazy week with little downtime on our 3D printers, but the prototype Nidhogg is now complete! She'll probably not get a lick of paint before we launch, but she is massive, technically our tallest ship, and on her side, our longest!
This marks a massive milestone for our campaign preparations, and things are developing quickly. Nidhogg has been a pleasure to design, and it has room for expansion as well. You can easily stack a few more decks if you need to.
With just three weeks until launch, and another (approximately) 8 until delivery, we think Nidhogg is going to look great on your tabletop.
The surprising thing to me is how well it sits on its feet and I can apply significant downward pressure from the nose without anything shifting. I used wedge clips so that the decks just easily unstack, and as usual, a whole heap of new interior customisations are on the way. I am looking forward to showing off the bridge, which has numerous stations.
It's kind of hard to articulate the feeling of taking a concept from my imagination and turning it into a physical model. It requires so much more work than you might think, and it kept me scratching my head with challenges right up until the end.
I am looking forward to showing off the Valkyria and Ratatosk in the coming weeks as we get ready to launch. John has also confirmed that we will be offering physical prints for those without a 3D printer.
