That means most synthetic brushes are too uniform, too smooth to hold paint like natural hair, and have a habit to warp and curl after use. If you've tangled with low-quality white nylon and yellow taklon brushes, you know plastic bristles don't hold up and often end up in the garbage after just a session or two.
