Richard Rieman

CREATOR
Richard's new Illustrated Audiobooks company is giving children's illustrated book authors a new way to build an accessibility ramp to picture books for ALL children, not just those who are blind or low vision, by including AD.
·       The U.S. Library of Congress has made 100 of Richard's audiobooks with AD accessible through the National Library Service for the Blind and its BARD player.
·       Richard's Imagination Storybooks has received the "AD (Audio Description) Game Changer in Education" Award from the American Council of the Blind, and a Special Recognition Award from the Audio Publisher's Association Audies Awards.
·       Richard's Imagination Storybooks has employed dozens of blind/low vision voice actors, audio editors, and blind AD proofers. This includes Richard himself, who is losing his eyesight to glaucoma. A sample of one blind voice actor, Karl Seitz, the actor who played "Young Jack" on the TV series, "This Is Us," narrating "Dragons Love Tacos" from a braille script provided by Imagination Storybooks: https://vimeo.com/imaginationstorybooks/dltsample

Richard Rieman founded the Nonprofit, Imagination Storybooks, to make hundreds of children's illustrated books accessible in a new way - by adding rich audio description of the pictures in both video and audio versions, including American Sign Language, captions, and downloadable braille .brf files with each accessible video.

·       Richard's accessible videos with AD and ASL are now available to tens of thousands of blind, deaf, and neurodiverse children, their parents, and their educators at The Described and Captioned Media Program, funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education at https://dcmp.org/producers/1913-imagination-storybooks-by-dcmp
