How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

🐮 Why should I pledge? What do I get for it?
Pledging allows us to bring these products to life thanks to your help! If you pledge for all the products you're interested in (even if they're not unlocked), it actually allows us to unlock stretch goals *quicker* than if you didn't! Remember, you can always alter your pledge or cancel it entirely - a pledge is not a commitment up until the campaign ends. As a thank you for your support, pledging allows you to get the products at a lower price during the first 72 hours of the campaign (aka "Early Bird")! Backers who pledge after the Early Bird tiers have expired will still have access to any freebies that have been unlocked! On top of that, you'll still have access to discounts if you pledge for more than one plushie! 🤎
🐮 How do I select the item that I want?
All choices will be made after the campaign has ended! You'll receive an email to fill in a BackerKit survey where you can specify which design you want.
🐮 How do add-ons work?
After selecting for a pledge tier, you'll be taken to the "Add-ons" section where you can select any other product that you'd like as an addition to your pledge. For example, you have pledged for one plushie. If you also want an extra enamel pin, you can add one (or more) as an add-on on top of your base pledge!
🐮 How do freebies work? Can I still get a specific freebie item even if my pledge doesn't qualify for it?
Yes, you can! As of right now, the following freebies offered are as follows: - CHERRY sticker sheet (pledges €50+) - CHERRY enamel pin (pledges €80+) While freebies are offered at specific pledge tiers, you can still get your hands on them via add-ons! Even if your pledge doesn't qualify for, let's say, the Cherry enamel pin freebie, you can still get your hands on one by adding it to your pledge as an add-on for an extra price. If your pledge does qualify for the Cherry enamel pin freebie but you'd like more, you can add more to your pledge via add-ons as well!
🐮 Is shipping included in the pledge? Do I get tracking?
No, shipping prices will be calculated after the campaign! We give an estimate of shipping prices at the "Shipping & Delivery Times" section of our campaign, but this is not final and is subject to change. This is due to shipping prices fluctuating each year. The prices reflected in the shipping section are for standard, untrackable shipping. Trackable shipping will be available when the campaign has ended and the surveys are sent. **Please estimate a €2.00 - 4.00 increase on top of the standard rates.**
🐮 Are the timelines guaranteed?
The timelines are a rough estimate and subject to change, but we'll always try our hardest to make sure that we'll stick to the given timelines as closely as possible! Large campaigns in particular can be subject to delays, so we kindly ask for your patience and understanding regarding this. Any changes will be promptly communicated via the campaign updates!
