BackerKit FAQ

How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.

To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.

All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.

Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.

Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.

What happens after the campaign is over?

The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.

The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.

Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

Project FAQ

Where is the 2025 Quest Calendar?

We are taking extra time to expand our team, refine our processes, and ensure that we continue to create games you love without compromising on creativity or well-being. While this means a slight delay in the release of our newest Quest Calendar, these changes are paving the way for a more exciting future. While we won't be releasing a desktop calendar in time for 2025, we have lots in store for the year ahead.

What are the dimensions of the Fate Finder?

Weight: 11 oz Shortest dimensions (flat edge to flat edge): 11.5 cm Largest dimension (corner to corner): 15 cm

What is it made of?

The Fate Finder is made of plastic. The look of marble and wood are printed designs. The internal mechanism contains a core of liquid where the d20 floats in.

Do I roll it like a normal die?

No. It is not made to be rolled. Instead, you shake it and give it a twist to the window where the number will be revealed. Although the Fate Finder is sturdy for standard use. We fear that if you roll it along a hard surface, if could crack and break.

Can I get a refund?

If you need to cancel your pledge after the campaign ends, we will gladly refund up to 90% of your pledge. The other 10% is taken by 3rd party fees. After your order is shipped, we will not be able to offer a refund.

Are you using a pledge manager?

Yes. Once the campaign ends, we will use BackerKit to collect your address and shipping funds. You will also be able to change your pledge and add on any additional items.

Will you have regional friendly shipping?

Yes. Region Friendly shipping includes the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, the UK, and Australia. If you’re in one of these regions, we anticipate that most backers should not have any additional fees associated with receiving your reward package. Very few specific locations within these regions assess individual local fees or charges. This policy does not cover charges imposed by any locale (county, town, etc). You would be responsible for those charges in these rare circumstances.

Will you offer this to retailers?

Yes. We have added a retailer pledge. The pledge amount confirms your commitment to order and helps us to finish the product. The full credit will apply to your final order in the pledge manager. Go here for the details on the Retailer packages offered: https://www.sundialgames.com/fate-finder-retail Proof of retailer status will be required. Shipments are planned to be sent along with other backers.

Will you charge taxes and VAT?

Yes. Taxes and VAT will be collected in the Pledge Manager. In the US, sales tax must be collected in Colorado where we have a presence. VAT in Europe is collected when we import the products. If you live in one of these areas, we will be collecting the VAT and taxes of sales and shipping in the pledge manager after the campaign ends. Colorado: 7% | UK: 20% | EU: 19% Estimated but varies by country. If you are a retailer and are VAT exempt, please mention so in the pledge manager and provide your necessary IDs.

How can I contact Sundial Games?

What is the timeline? Will I receive it for Christmas?

We have a section on the project page about our timeline. Please visit there for more details. We would love to get Fate Finders in your hands in time for Christmas and Holiday gift-giving. We are working hard to do this but can't make a guarantee. There are just too many factors that we don't control. While we would like to say yes, we don't want to disappoint.
