Project Update: Smoke Test Sent + Note on Harassment
5% of you are receiving the Backer Surveys and BackerKit and I will be reviewing the small clutch of surveys tomorrow for any mistakes and/or improvements that need to be made.
That said, a small note
For International Backers:
While a majority of countries have weight-based postage prices already filled out, ones that fall outside of the EU, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South American, and Asian countries will appear as an artificially inflated "$500 USD postage" catch all.
Why? To force a backer to reach out so we can manually quote them, as the countries that fall outside the nearly 100 covered often have much higher rates than can be anticipated by weight alone. Not $500 high, but this is meant to make a backer stop, pause, and reach out.
This is the policy/method encouraged by BackerKit and part of the point of the smoke test, so we can potentially catch any re-occuring countries that can have a new weight-based postage table written up so that there is less of a need to reach out one-by-one.
That said, this is language we do not tolerate in reply to this issue or any other:

This is not acceptable behavior and will not be tolerated verbiage going forward. There have already been multiple instances of harassment on email and DMs as well. This person's pledge (and others) has been cancelled and refunded and I will not allow them to re-place their order if they were to try.
We have a 100% Zero Tolerance Policy on this campaign and with my company in general.
These are stuffed animals. These are not your life saving medication order. There is no need to be so aggressive on any matter, especially ones that happen because of a misunderstanding of the campaign policies. We are not Walmart, we are not Amazon, and even their customer service reps do not deserve the level of anger and rudeness that seems "acceptable" these days.
We do not accept it. This kind of overly aggressive communication will have your order cancelled, refunded, and your name added to a block list that will either have orders auto-cancelled or cancelled manually.
We do our best to provide the best service we can, but we are an EXTREMELY small team that is 90% me, 5% BackerKit staff, and 5% Leah, a part time employee - as well as occasional paid help, though I am hoping to add proper employees as we grow in the coming year.
Shouting at us will do nothing but get your pledge/purchase/etc cancelled and refunded. We are people, not a wall to vent your frustrations at. Please keep this in mind going forward when reaching out for assistance, which me, Leah (my assistant who you might have been contacted by if you ever reached out to the official Weighted Wildlife email) and BackerKit both.
We are only trying to make this campaign as smooth as possible and then make the transition into fulfillment and post-campaign sales as smooth as possible with smiles on everyone's faces.
Let's be kind and give the benefit of the doubt when problems arise. 🐉✨
