The Big Sea is a Children's Adventure book where a family unites to understand each other's feelings during a traumatic time.
With art by acclaimed board game artist The Mico, written by Peter Chiykowski (The Story Engine) and inspired by Martyn Poole's real life story.
Written as a way to keep families united and help both parents and children understand what each other are going through, The Big Sea follows the story of Lilly and Lewis through adventure, intrigue, guilt and love.
We have managed to get some great partners to work with us to help raise funds for charities outside of this campaign.
Above you will see a banner of all the amazing Tabletop Publishers who have chosen a charity close to them and for every book sold approximately £10 will be split and donated to the charities*
Each publisher has chosen a charity and pledged a capped amount (if we hit 1000 books sold), we will be keeping each publisher's amount undisclosed to keep it fair but the total is around £10,000!**
Over the course of this campaign we will be sharing more on which charities have been selected by each publisher.

In early 2022, Martyn had a huge lump appear on his arm, after several check ups the word cancer was thrown around by the doctors. During this time, Martyn struggled to find the words to tell his family what may be happening. Looking for resources online there was very little, that is where The Big Sea comes in. He hopes it can be used as a way for families to talk about such a difficult topic.
The book is over 40 pages of colourful art by The Mico and adventurous writing by Peter Chiykowski. See below for just some of the sample pages.

The Big Sea has been written and proofread, about 50% of the artwork has been completed, and we are confident that we are providing a fun, informative and helpful book.
Manufacturing and shipping have been fully costed and our funding goal is realistic and has a margin for error built into it.
As with all crowdfunded projects, there is a risk of unforeseen issues in the manufacturing and/or shipping industries which could potentially cause delays which may lead to us missing our target delivery date. We will be open and transparent about these and keep backers informed of all developments.
