The Amber Tarot is a 78 card fully reproducing the Waite’s taro, shot on film camera. All photos that you see on cards were made with a FILM camera, without resorting to computer graphics.
It took us a year of very hard work, a hundred sleepless nights, to bring this deck to life. We want you to share with us the joy of creating this deck. We count on your help and support. We believe this deck will satisfy you!
The goal of our team is to revive the tarot deck of Waite, to make it alive, full of energy, to show all the depth and splendor of wisdom inherent in each Arcana. Like a director in a theater who recreates a literary masterpiece, we have recreated the masterpiece of the esoteric world created by Waite.
Just compare the original Rider-Waite cards to what we've managed to create! For each card, we carefully selected a model, costume, location, and accessories. We aimed to capture not just the symbols but the spirit of each card as well.
To move away from dry documentary-style photography and add magic to the final images, we used smoke machines during the shoots. This unified all the cards with a consistent aesthetic and added a sense of enchantment to the photos without using special effects or computer graphics.
One of the reasons we complicated our process by shooting on film is our belief in the magical power of silver. The silver halide coating on Kodak film gives a unique sense of reality to the object and captures a timeless magical moment. The location where we shot the deck is imbued with amber, which is also considered a magical stone in many cultures. This combination of materials, along with the energy of nearly 100 participants in this project, makes the Amber Tarot deck truly magical and communicative! Join the project and feel how the deck comes alive and speaks to you.

In each card, we aimed to preserve as many details as possible from the original Rider-Waite deck. For example, for the Seven of Swords, we built an entire tent city in a historical settlement, sourced real swords and armor, and even placed a "sleeping" guard in a distant tent to remind everyone that someone slept through the theft of these swords, just like in the original card.

In addition to the physical deck, our team has developed an app that will let you forget about guidebooks, searching for card meanings, and confusion over reversed cards! Simply scan the card and get its meaning in both upright and reversed positions. This works not only with the Amber Tarot deck but also with the classic Rider-Waite deck!
In the future, our app will feature decks from our friends and other creators, along with much more exciting content! Download the app now and enjoy the meanings database for free!
