BackerKit FAQ

How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.

To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.

All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.

Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.

Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.

What happens after the campaign is over?

The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.

The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.

Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

Project FAQ

Is any of your artwork AI generated?

No. I've partnered with a host of talented humans to bring forth awe-inspiring illustrations.

Will Knight Vision Creative content be compatible with the upcoming D&D new releases?

Yes! I will provide all the material you need to play in 5E or OneD&D. I have an editor who worked on the OneD&D books to help smooth the transition.

Why doesn't the spine of the book have the title on it?

Originally it did. After reviewing it with the community, we decided it would be way more awesome to remove the text. The spine illustration will have a unique character based on the content of the book, so standalone or in-series, backers will be able to quickly identify which one they are looking at.

Is the Paths of Power the same as the 14 Subclass Add-On preorder?

Yes! We voted on a name in Discord, and the 14 Subclass add-ons leveled up to the Paths of Power!

If I already preordered the 14 subclass add-on, how will I see that in my pledge?

Once the campaign closes, everyone will have an account created with the pledge manager. Those who pre-ordered the 14 subclass add-on (Paths of Power) will see it there, or a credit you can use to apply to shipping or another reward if you also chose it during the campaign, such as through the Treasure Hoard tier.

Can I use my credit for the Creed’s Codex subscription?

Yes! Your credits can absolutely be applied to the Creed’s Codex subscription. If you backed the Treasure Hoard, you’ll have access to the site for years, including all the content released during that time.

Will any of your content be available on VTTs?

Creed's Codex: Arcane Secrets of the Summoners is available on Shard here: https://play.shardtabletop.com/marketplace#product?id=xpzt64kl8wb8ewtq&refc=psionic-campaign&refu=ffbwc7wCyjZCwcT0dlMtu51v0Ki1 There are now so many choices for VTT, and costs associated with creating content for each one, that I decided to instead build a digital VTT agnostic site: CreedsCodex.com It will house all of my content, and I'll be looking for ways to make it easier to use in and out of VTTs.

Are you going to offer dice, GM screen, plushies, etc.?

No. Have you been a part of a campaign that had an incredible run and raised tons of funds but also had a lot different items available? Did they deliver on time or were they years late? Additional product lines dramatically complicates a project. I'm taking the hedgehog approach and looking to do one thing extremely well: build and deliver amazing books. Anything that doesn't help make that experience better, such as tangential SKUs that delay the main offering, is not something I'm looking to implement at present.

When do I get to choose which book I'm getting if I chose the PDF or Hardcover pledge?

You can make your selection in the Pledge Manager after the campaign ends. You'll be able to change your mind or modify your pledge up until the pledges lock and rewards get delivered.

How confident are you you'll ship on time?

Extremely! - Creed's Codex: Arcane Secrets of the Summoners Kickstarter PDF was delivered early. - Creed's Codex: Legends of the Psions Hardcovers were delivered early. - Creed's Codex: Arcane Secrets of the Summoners and Creed's Codex: Legends of the Psions have both been printed already. - Creed's Codex: Echoes of the Shattered Age is well under development, with over 40,000 words already written. - I have a fulfillment team and printer partnerships established from my previous Kickstarter. - I have intentionally not pursued lots of different products to ensure I can deliver the core books without complication. I've focused heavily on building a best-in-class book creation and delivery process. The question in my mind is how early can we be?
