An epic swords & planet hex crawl for DCC RPG! Your characters are cast across the cosmos to a foreign world. Left to die beneath a weirdling sun and its sickening rays, their survival depends as much upon a quick wit as a quick blade...
Prepare for Harley Stroh’s sword-and-planet fantasy epic! Your characters are cast across the cosmos to a foreign world. Left to die beneath a weirdling sun and its sickening rays, their survival depends as much upon a quick wit as a quick blade. Even the finest chain hauberk must fail beneath the crush of an alien horde.
This level 4 exploration-style adventure spans scores of leagues. On the Purple Planet, your characters cross hundreds of miles of alien wasteland, where they face predatory creatures, deadly mushroom jungles, and thousands of factious savage man-beasts locked in an endless war.
In the course of the sprawling hex-crawl, characters have the opportunity to assume mastery of their own warbands, pit faction against faction, plumb ancient burial mounds, respect the age-old taboos, and experiment with deadly artifacts – the remnants of the Last War.
How characters meet each challenge determines whether they discover the secrets to returning home, or slip beneath the sands of the wastes, succumbing to the perils of the Purple Planet.
For those few with the courage to remain, we offer a world for the conquering.
An extraordinary collection of adventure awaits you with this project! All campaign pledge levels include savings of at least 10% from MSRP. Save 20% from MSRP with multi-product pledges!
This project compiles all the (known) adventures of the Purple Planet into a handsome hardcover edition! The hardcover includes:
All the material from the long out-of-print DCC #84 boxed set, with the core adventure Peril on the Purple Planet, as well as Tombs of the Ancients, The Purple Planet Companion (with lost tech, bestiary, and more), Escape From the Purple Planet, and everything else.
The stand-alone adventures originally published as DCC #84.1: The Rock Awakens, #84.2: Synthetic Swordsmen of the Purple Planet, and #84.3: Sky Masters of the Purple Planet.
Chessmen of the Purple Planet, an all-new adventure by Harley Stroh
The complete Glossography of the Ythoth, finally compiled into one document
Invasion of the Purple Planet, an adventure originally published in the German edition and now available in English for the first time ever
In addition, this project crowdfunds new hardcover compilations of DCC “skinny modules” - plus DCC #107: Forgotten Dangers!
Tome of Adventure #1 returns for a second printing with a collection of DCC adventures originally published as #66.5 through #72.
Tome of Adventure #2 collects the run of DCC adventures from #73 to #79.
Tome of Adventure #3 collects the initial run of DCC Lankhmar adventures, plus rare material from the the long-out-of-print Patrons of Lankhmar.
Tome of Adventure #4 is the official name of the Purple Planet compilation.
And a slipcase! Dedicated fans can get all four volumes collected together in a custom slipcase that holds all four titles! The slipcase is adorned with new art by Doug Kovacs!
DCC #107: Forgotten Dangers collects six short DCC adventures for levels 1-3! Originally published in long-out-of-print early printings of the core rulebook or rare Free RPG Day releases, these adventures are finally back in print!
A hallmark of the DCC RPG core rulebook is that the rules never change, even across a decade of reprints – but the evocative art on the cover constantly evolves. With this project, the roster of extraordinary artists invited to contribute to the DCC core rulebook canvas adds one more very important name: legendary TSR artist Erol Otus. Erol playtested DCC RPG at DunDraCon 2011 and you can find a photo of that game in the front of the core rulebook. Now Erol contributes a beautiful new illustration for a custom cover variant offered through this crowdfunding.
In addition, the classic DCC Demon Skull by Doug Kovacs returns in a new printing, this time on rainbow-reflective gold foil debossed onto a simulated devil-hide textured cover! (No devils were harmed in the production of this rulebook.) The demon skull is an icon and its presence grows even more impactful with this new printed edition.
