Project Update: IMPORTANT UPDATE
Hello everyone,
some of you may have noticed your payments for this campaign have not gone through. Stripe has informed us they will not process payments on this campaign.
We have spoken with them twice now and they are reviewing this. Their staff informs us we are not in violation of any policies, but their word does not appear to hold much value. We spoke with Stripe just the other day to get out ahead of the banning they have been doing and were informed "we guarantee your account is fine."
This does not seem the case. They are claiming we violate their rules for adult content. Let me be clear: Astral Ticket Comics does not make pornography. Our comics feature tasteful nudity and suggestive humor, but not actual pornography.
We have been informed by Stripe several times our work does not violate policy to the extent where, during my phone call with them today, even they were confused about this. I am working to rectify this situation and will not sleep until this is solved. They claim this will be reviewed and resolved within 48 hours.
I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED!
Until then, let's plan for a worst case scenario. Suppose Stripe does strike this down and refuse to process the payout, or can no longer process the payout which would require a re-run of the campaign. I will put it to vote if this comes up but these would be the options:
Option A: I can bill each of you directly via Paypal or Squarespace and you will receive everything you've asked for. In case there is concern on this, Astral Ticket is a registered corporation with the United States government which means we have full accountability by law to give you what you pay for. And we always will.
Option B: An option only if Stripe realizes their mistake, we can re-run the campaign.
Option C: According to Stripe, who's word holds small value at this point, our Kickstarter account is absolutely fine and has violated no terms. We could offer everything from this Digital campaign on the upcoming Pure Intent #3 campaign there.
These are my options as of now, but nothing is concrete. I will keep you informed. Any positive thoughts you can send are appreciated.
