Picking up right where issue #1 leaves off, Shay agrees to split the bounty with Maria in return for her aid. Hot on the trail of their bounty, the duo stumble into an ambush. They'll need all of their tricks, and a bit of universal magic, if they hope to get off this planet alive.
Issues 1 and 2 tell a complete story by themselves, making them the perfect introduction to the Cremisi story.

Shay and his virtual sidekick, Alice, stumble upon a derelict freighter raided by pirates. Hoping to dredge up some treasures and valuable trinkets, Shay dons his spacesuit to investigate. Instead of riches, Shay finds only the infectious echoes of his past. While digging through the remains of the ship's logs, Alice finds a name painfully familiar... Cremisi. Issue 3 dives into the gory meat of the Cremisi tale with an issue inspired by Dead Space.

After a close run-in with space pirates, Shay tracks down a rumored genius starship mechanic to get the Purgatory patched up. He's soon greeted with the fiery-tempered Renee whose mechanical skills are rivaled only by her virtuosic use of certain four-letter words. The cost of having his ship repaired turns out to be the least of Shay's worries when he gets pulled into a feud between Renee and the local mob. With the Purgatory in no shape to takeoff, there's no escape this time!

Much to Shay's delight, and Renee's dismay, Sufavree is a paradise of great food, drink, and free love. Before Shay can truly sink his teeth into Sufavree's delights, he hears a painfully familiar phrase; Salvation through Exile. What was once Heaven quickly becomes Hell. Shay... your past has finally caught up to you. Celebrating the final issue in the first arc, this issue is fully colored! This is the most violent and raunchy issue in the series to date!
