everything that happens between the get-togethers to do clever things with clever people is just an off-camera spoon management side quest that honestly could do with some fast-travel. parenting is such a fetch quest: you spend so many spoons to collect these macguffins with no end in sight; and you just hope against hope that those macguffins will one day become clever themselves and eventually give back spoons before the end. i just want to play Spades, guys, but i'll settle for a dungeon crawl. yeah, let's go.
