CREATOR
Alaska Native Certified Tribal Artist. I hand-dye protein fiber yarns (ie: baby alpaca, alpaca, merino, silk, yak, baby camel, quivit & angora blends); design, knit and weave fiber crafts featuring ancient tribal designs that are rarely seen or used. My crafts are made with contemporary methods to form modern fabrics and crafts. The sacred, ancient designs are the same as the originals on preserved fiber crafts and photographs, they still maintain their significance and importance. I started this to help my tribe’s cultural artwork stay “alive” so I designed interchangeable patterns for crafts such as: shawls, scarves, cowls, hats, etc. I mainly knit two color brioche, lace & Fair Isle/jacquard. For  weaving I make them via freeform overlay & tapestry.
My patterns are interchangeable, chosen randomly as I knit/weave, form designs that complement, help interpret the meanings and illustrate the stories behind the traditional art they’re paired with.
