Kholan: Scholar, Gamer, Story Weaver

At the intersection of game studies and diverse fields, IƤ "Kholan" Bull strives to craft narratives where the philosophical meets the playful. Drawing inspiration from Sara Ahmed's Queer Phenomenology and the Indigenous ontologies of Duarte, Belarde-Lewis, and Littletree, Bull explores gaming as a realm of imagination and relationality.
A connoisseur of the dark and grotesque in video games, Bull has been captivated by titles like Fear & Hunger, delving into their depths since 2022. Their gaming table often echoes with the haunting narratives of World of Darkness, Bluebeard's Bride, and ShadowDark, where queer, feminine, and settler colonial horrors intertwine.
The macabre and profound are reflected in gameplay styles they love - from nurturing the decay with the Golgari Swarm in Magic: The Gathering, transcending flesh with the Tzimisce of Vampire: The Masquerade, to finding solace in the caring embrace of Grandpapa Nurgle in Warhammer.
Through games, Bull loves to weave stories that challenge, engage, and reimagine, inviting players to explore the edges of known worlds and the depths of their own perceptions.
