As the light of the day fades and darkness sets in, a simple roll of the dice could make the difference between surviving by the skin of your teeth and being dragged to the depths of hell!
Keep telling yourself "it's only a game" as you enter the bizarre world of horrors in
Adam Vass's MIDNIGHT MARATHON: Five brand new ttrpg zines to bring terror to your tabletop.

Edit
The Midnight Marathon consists of five brand new zines from designer/artist Adam Vass of World Champ Game Co. (Necronautilus, 1978: The Night They Came Home, Blood Borg, and many more). Each game focuses on it's own unique flavor of fright, offering a wide range of play experiences for horror fans of every variety:

  • BLOOD LOCK

  • MICHIGAN DOGMAN

  • LETTERS FROM THE LIBERTY MOTEL

  • THE RITES OF EXORCISM

  • (MYSTERY TITLE)

Edit

BLOOD LOCK highlights the mental moments in suspension during a tense standoff between a Vampire hungry for its next blood meal, a Victim bound and crying for their life, a Thrall desperate to please their powerful master, and a Hunter full of rage with their target finally in their sights.

This prompt-based game is Descended From The Queen, with 2-4 players using a deck of standard poker cards and their imagination to create a web of intrigue and despair that can light up a companion campaign in the vampire punk adventure game Blood Borg also by Adam Vass.

Blood Lock is presented here as a full-color staple-bound zine, bring your own card deck. At checkout, you can add a custom deck of cards with the prompts and art right on them, see the Shipping section for more info.

This work is based on For the Queen (found at http://www.forthequeengame.com/), a product of Alex Roberts, and licensed for our use under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/).

Michigan Dogman pits a cryptid hunter scouring the midwest forests seeking proof to spare them ridicule but beware of what they may find!

A solitaire explorer uses dice to traverse a map of a Michigan woodland in search of evidence of the titular Dogman, a dangerous dog-human hybrid whispered about for over a century. However, the further into the woods our hunter goes, the more danger and mystery they undoubtedly will find.
Michigan Dogman is presented here as full-color staple-bound zine, its first time ever in print. This version of the game includes new multiplayer rules, expanded prompts, clarified rules, and cleaner layout than its one-page rpg version.

Letters from the Liberty Motel explores the mind of the housekeeper in a surreal eternal hostel through memory, loss, confusion, and danger, inspired by The Shining

Each room holds a new nightmare for our solitary protagonist to explore and write about in this solo epistolary game. You need these rules, writing implements, a d10 and 2d6.

Generate and explore various rooms of the motel and their inhabitants/condition, answering prompts, rolling dice, and potentially writing letter/journal entries from varied perspectives as you  explore the peculiarities the motel seems to attract. This game was inspired in significant part by Repent by Maxwell Lander and Void 1680 AM by Ken Lowery.

Letters from the Liberty Motel is presented here as a full-color staplebound zine. Originally hand-printed and published in very limited supply as part of the 2023 Wondercabinet Invitational, the layout has been remastered to be easier to read/play and features more illustrations.
Edit

The Rites of Exorcism compiles 4* brand new microgames of demonic possession in one unholy tome.

Each unique entry created for the 36 word RPG jam but written in conversation with one another, the zine spans curious children summoning demons, spiritual battles for host bodies, and scouring the regrets of the wavering priest performing rites. While games vary between solo and duet, each requires a consistent 7d6 (not provided).

The Rites of Excorcism is presented here as a full-color staplebound zine. Additional microgames will be added and the zine will be expanded if we hit $6,000 on this campaign!

Spin The Bottle brings you to a bloody party years after a shared childhood trauma. Can we drink away our miseries or are we doomed to our deadly fate?

With a deck of cards, a couple friends, and yes a spinning bottle, weave together tales of childhood crushes, missing kids, paranormal phenomena, and lifelong regret in this roleplaying game for 3-6 players. Inspired by Channel Zero: Candle Cove, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Talk To Me.

Spin The Bottle is presented as a full-color staple-bound zine, the newest of the five games in the Midnight Marathon.

  • Shipping will be charged later during the pledge manager. You'll be able to edit your shipping address during that time too, don't sweat.
  • US orders with zines will be shipped by hand myself via USPS media mail for a flat rate of $7. If you get one zine or five, shipping stays the same!
  • US backers who also pick up the Blood Lock card deck add-on will have that shipped separately at a later date. Printing on these takes much longer than a normal zine, so expect the card deck to arrive about two months after the zines start shipping. The cost of the deck includes the additional shipping charge.
  • UK and EU orders will be shipped by Peregrine Coast Press, a boutique retailer and distributor of indie tabletop games in the UK. Estimated cost is £8-12
  • Any other international orders will be shipped by me using Pirate Ship's Simple Export service, which can be delivered to your local post service and tracked using Asendia, estimated cost is $16.
