Today I get to share exciting progress news, as well as early looks at the pins!
But first timeline: Pins are expected to ship to me by Jan 7th, so I should hopefully have everything by the 14th and start shipping by the end of January!
Stickers arrived and are so cute! I unlocked the hexed sticker too, so those who ordered it will have him 😊.
I realized I didn't add the Hektor Derpy to the add-ons during Pledge manager, so he'll be in the next campaign.
All the postcards also arrived, though I haven't sorted it yet. But they all look amazing!
And now for the pin sneak peek! (Keep in mind these aren't the best quality photos as some are blurry, but these were sent from my manu.)
And as a special treat, I upgraded the "Hektor" custom Derpy to be glow in the dark eyes for the dragon and pumpkin! Like a real Jack-o'-lantern! And the weirdling tribe is grey pearl swirl for the dragon 😊.
I can't wait to add these to my own collection!
In other Derpy news
I have completed even more derpies for my bookish derpy dragon campaign in January. Bringing the finished designs to 6, plus 2 collab design sets. That's 8 possible new Derpies 😁. I tweaked the text for the "Shhh" derpy and it's now "I read banned books", which I think really suits him.
I also added the "tortured artist/author" Derpy, which is based on the sketch I made while my son was in the hospital after being run over by a car.
I plan to make 4+ more derpies based on bookish quotes before the campaign, or at least during it. But here's a peek at the full collection so far:
As always, backers will vote on which ones to unlock and I will make an 11th backer inspired derpy as well, once we hit that stretch goal. So start thinking of favourite bookish quotes you'd like as derpies! And share them in the comments!
I had a lot of fun drawing the stretchgoal bookshelf for these Derpies and can't wait to share it with everyone in January 😉. (Though you can see it on my Patreon in the meantime.)
You can follow the campaign here: Like before, I will have early bird stickers and returning backer stickers. I will have a limited super early bird 10 pin tier again and returning backers will be invited to early access 24 hrs before the campaign launches.

I have locked all orders now, and sent final numbers to my manufacturer. You can still complete the survey, you just can't change anything except your address.
So who was the favourite?
I've honestly never had such close results for every single pin! But here's the winners: Skelly mini (with an unfair win and therefore disqualified) - 105
I'll finalize any little tweaks to designs and pay for manufacturing. There's only 3 minor tweaks to designs so it shouldn't take long to fix.
And then it's a matter of waiting for the production fairy-dragons to work their magic.
In the meantime, I have been hired by 3 other creators to draw their pins for Pintopia 2025! All of them authors who needed pins for their merch. I'll share those once they have their campaigns set up.
Plus I'll be working on my own bookish derpy dragons in the meantime. I have 4 official designs and my two collab stretch goals with my son finished. Which means I need to make 6 more bookish derpies. And I welcome any ideas as always! You can either comment here, or email it to [email protected]
On a completely side note, who has watched Arcane? I don't often get inspired to do fanart, but I just had to draw Jinx😅. I want to draw VI too, but first I need to get through commissions and editing my novel 😅.

I just got the notification that my order is about to lock, which while it isn't necessarily a problem since I have filled out my survey, I do have some questions. I commented on the update post but I guess it got overlooked or it never notified you since I've heard there are some issues with how the comment system functions (there's also someone else who had a question in the comments, if you haven't seen that either).
As said in my comment, I was a little confused by the different shipping/charge dates in the survey [and in the update I commented on, honestly]. Would you mind clarifying when I would be charged for the shipping and addons? My pledge was for the shadows are friends pin, but I did qualify for the pintober freebie and I added the fueled by creativity pin in the survey.
I'm assuming mine is getting locked because you said orders with the shadows are friends pin as the pledge would be locked, but since I definitely had other things in my order I'm not sure if it's an issue that my order is already locking?
The funds have arrived, and I just finished setting up the surveys. Once the amazing BK staff have made sure everything is honky dory, I will send out the smoke test, followed by surveys. So expect those sometime next week.

Why is it so important to get this done so quickly? The surveys give me an idea how much of each design to order. I typically order 100 of each design, but sometimes you guys seem to favor one design and I have to bump it to 200. If there's a lot of late surveys, I may not have enough pins to fulfill your choices. And there's no way to see who completed it late so it's not fair to your fellow backers if I have to delay fulfillment to order more.
Unmet stretch goals
You will have a second chance to help unlock the hexed bookish derpy by adding it to your cart.
Only 25 need to be added to cover the manufacturing costs. And there's a progress bar in the add-ons so you can see when we unlock it. I also added the sticker as a stretch goal.
What happens if not enough people order it? I will see how close we are to unlocking it to see if I can absorb the cost. If not it'll be cancelled, and you won't be charged for it. In that case I'll add him to my bookish derpy dragons campaign in January 😁
What about my freebie pin?
If you backed 3+ Pintober campaigns you will find it in your cart when you check out. If you missed him or want a 2nd copy, you can add him as an add-on
There were 94 of you who qualified for the free mini pin! And I just wanted to say thank you for supporting all of us creators. We know it's a lot spreading yourself between so many campaigns, and it means the world to us when you pick us!
Returning backers
We had 77 returning backers this time around! Wow! I can't express my gratitude that you have chosen to return and get more dragons.
Unfortunately, we didn't quite reach the 100 needed to unlock the free upgrade to the weirdling tribe pin as your rewards 😔, but you will still get the super cool holographic sticker. I still really like this pin design, and will add it as a stretch goal to the add-ons. And we can try again in the next campaign to get the silver one for you guys.
Now it's not all near hits. There was another custom commission unlocked in this campaign, and a brand new derpy will join the horde!
Presenting "Hector" the pumpkin skull derpy
He will be added to the add-ons for you to collect! Unfortunately, as he's a custom commission, he's not available as part of the pledge tier designs. But, if you add him during the survey, you will get a backer discount.
I'm so glad that the pumpkin derpy will now have a friend. And I just wanted to take a moment to thank Cassirole for yet another fun derpy commission! (She also commissioned the Shadows are Friends derpy for you guys!)
Failed pledges
There were several failed pledges this time around. But all hope is not lost. You can still claim your derpies and dragons by completing the surveys and letting me know which pins you want so I can order enough.
Shipping/add-on charges
I hope to order the pins by the end of next week after the majority have completed surveys. Which means that I should receive them sometime late Dec/early January. I'll charge cards once I receive the pins as I start sorting and fulfilling right away. I will make an update when this will happen. More than likely the first week of January.
Exception: Shadows are Friends tier.
Since I have these pins already, I will lock and fulfill them right away. Unless there's other haunted pins /freebie pins in your cart, in which case fulfillment will still be in January.
Well, I think that is all the important stuff. Keep your eyes on your email next week for those surveys.

So what now?
Over the next 2 weeks Backerkit will collect your funds. While they do that I'll set up the survey, which I will send once I get the funds. As I would like to move things along quickly, I am asking these surveys to be completed ASAP so I know how many pins to order. As long as the majority gets it done by Nov 21st, I hope to finalize the order by then.
Then we wait...not much to do but wait while the pin fairy-dragons work their magic and get our little treasures made.
If everything goes to plan, I should have it all late Dec/early January and ship it to you before my next campaign!
But what about my hexed bookish derpy 😭.
Officially the blue Derpy with the pink/wine 🍷 coloured book won! Though it was a close one between the purple! But, sadly, we never reached $11000... 😭
Not all hope is lost, however! While I can't just say he's unlocked due to the manufacturing cost, you have another chance to unlock him. I will add him as an add-on in pledgemanager. And if enough people buy him to cover the cost, I will unlock him! (About 20-25)
But what if we don't get enough people to add him? (*sad dragon face*)
Depending if we get close, I might still unlock him and absorb the cost. Otherwise he will make an appearance with the other bookish derpies in January's campaign.
How will you know if he's unlocked? Fortunately, pledgemanager has this really cool bar that tracks it! And I will make an update ☺️.
When will shipping be charged?
Probably in January once I receive the pins. I don't have an exact date. But I will make an update to let you know. I usually start fulfillment as soon as pins arrive. And your pins will ship by early-late January.
The only exception is if you add-on books. Depending on the book, if it's the deluxe edition novels from my last campaign, they will ship in the spring, once I receive those books.
The rest will ship in January/February provided I knew to purchase the stock (aka surveys were done early enough 😊).
