Project Update: January Updates - The audiobook is FINISHED
Thank you so much for your continued support of the Unrelenting audiobook. The audiobook is FINISHED! We’re thrilled with the final result and so excited to share it with you.
But before we get deeper into our fulfillment updates, a quick note on the book’s sequel, Undeniable.
We’re getting ready to implement final edits and send the novel off to our publisher for a (hopeful) 2025 release. As of now, Undeniable will be published in print (physical and digital). We’ll likely run a separate BackerKit campaign in the future for an audiobook, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, we’re continuing to finalize the fulfillment of our Unrelenting audiobook campaign.
Fulfillment Update: Audiobook
If you backed the audiobook, keep an eye on your email this week. Since it’s a digital download, it will be delivered through BackerKit. You’ll receive a special link to the Dropbox folder with the audiobook files. We're hoping to get them out in the next couple of days.
In February, we’ll also upload the audiobook to major audiobook platforms, like Libro.fm (which is an amazing audiobook resource that gives back to independent bookstores. If you don’t use it, we highly recommend it!). You are, of course, welcome to purchase the audiobook via the official platforms, but if you backed us at the audiobook level, you’ve already paid for the files we’ll be sending you! Thanks again for your support and helping make this happen.
Fulfillment Update: Physical Pledges
As of now, we’ve officially mailed off all physical books and sticker packs! This includes shipments to Canada, which were temporarily delayed due to the postal strike.
This does not include physical book donations or books included within the immersive experience. Here’s where we stand on both of those projects:
The Immersive Experience
All of the materials for the Immersive Experience have been created and printed. We’re now in the packaging phase (which Marie is doing by hand for each package). It’s turned into quite the project, but we’re thrilled with how it’s turning out! Here are some sneak peeks:
We’re hoping to send the Immersive Experience out by mid-February at the latest, so keep an eye on your mailbox if you ordered one!
And if you didn't... we're planning to sell the box sets at conventions in the future, so make sure you're on our email list. We'll send out our con schedule, so you can stop by and get your own.
Donated Books
Many of you requested that we donate a copy of Unrelenting to a nonprofit or library. Once we finalize the Immersive Experience, this will be our next area of focus. We will start reaching out to organizations and then anticipate sending these donated books out between now and mid-year.

Project Update: December Updates
Time is flying, and it's hard to believe we're already almost in mid-December. I know we promised more frequent updates than we've sent, and we apologize for the delay. With the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S. along with various travel plans, life got hectic.
But we do have an update for you! At this point we'll aim to send 1-2 updates a month, to keep you in the loop without spamming your inbox.

Audiobook Recording
Last week our narrator, Mary Robinette, began the recording process for the audiobook. We've already heard a few sample chapters, and to say we're delighted would be a massive understatement.
It's truly incredible to hear our story come to life in this new format. Mary Robinette is such an excellent narrator, and we're thrilled to entrust Unrelenting to her.
What's next? Once the book is fully recorded, we'll enter the proofing process (think editing, but for audio). As of now, we're still shooting for an early 2025 release of the audiobook.

Project Update: Surveys, fulfillment updates, and more
As we shift gears into the fulfillment portion of the Unrelenting Audiobook campaign, we want to make sure you're kept up-to-date with progress.

Surveys Are Out!
As of today, we're sitting at about a 70% completion rate. If you've filled yours out, thank you!

Audiobook Update
Thanks to the funds you pledged, we're officially on Mary Robinette's recording calendar! She'll be recording Unrelenting beginning in December. The entire process (from recording to editing to all the other techy stuff that we don't fully understand) takes a bit, but we're optimistic we'll have an audiobook for you in early 2025.
Other Fulfillment Updates
Finally, we're going to make some adjustments to the expected fulfillment dates. Since this is our very first BackerKit we'd neglected to take some things into account... like the time it would take to collect surveys. Because of this, we're shifting things back slightly.

- Other Digital Pledges: You'll receive an email from us within 1 week of surveys closing with your digital tier information (for example, how to submit your manuscript for review).
- Physical Books: Will ship in the first half of November

- Audiobook: Early 2025.

We wrapped up the campaign last night with $4,490 raised, meaning our project was 150% funded.
We are both SO grateful to each of you for everything, and we're super excited to dig into the production and fulfillment stages of the campaign.
Today, we're celebrating and taking the weekend to rest.
Next week, we'll communicate our timeline for production and fulfillment. Plus, most excitingly, we'll coordinate with Mary Robinette to get the narration project on her calendar.
We anticipate that you'll receive your post-campaign fulfillment survey within a week, so we know where to send your items once they're ready. And we promise to keep you up-to-date with our fulfillment timeline.

Project Update: We're In the Home Stretch
We're 9 hours from the end of this campaign, and we want to say, thank you SO much for your support, enthusiasm, shares, follows, and awesomeness.
Because of each and every one of you, we have exceeded our initial funding goal and now are just $705 shy of our $5,000 stretch goal. We are 85% of the way there!
