CREATOR
Hi, everyone! Apologies for the lack of updates, I ended up with a cold that kept me down for a few weeks. Definitely not something you want to be dealing with when you have a crowdfund to promote, and with a little less than two weeks left, I'm trying to promote it as much as I can!
Speaking of promotion, I was recently invited to be a part of Lackadaisy's Shop Talk, which you can watch below! I'm eternally grateful to the team for inviting me, and had a blast talking Lumi and the struggles and success of indie animation.
We also managed to hit $21k, an incredible feat! Once again, I'm so incredibly grateful for your support. That just leaves of with $113,728 left to reach our goal as per our achievements- and with nearly 300 backers to boot! It was put in achievements that if we reached 300 backers, we'd release the first three pages of our pilot script, and with 292 so far, it looks as if we may as well reach it! I plan on submitting new achievement goals either tonight or tomorrow, so please keep an eye out for them
I also wanted to touch on the subject, since few have expressed their concern regarding the stillness of Lumi's crowdfund. I’ve had a few questions regarding if we’re unsuccessful in funding Lumi on BackerKit, and to clarify, you’ll still get to see the pilot — just not in it’s fully animated form. I plan on uploading the animatic to YouTube with what we have been able to get done animation wise.
I know this decision may come across as disappointing for those who wanted to see it fully animated, and I’m sorry for that. But as it stands, I don’t think I can put any more of my energy into a third crowdfund, and overseeing everything for the past few years has been taxing.
There’s still 17 days left, so we’ll just have to see how far we can get! The BackerKit, whether it succeeds or not, I won’t consider a failure. I just hope you’ll still be able to appreciate Lumi, even if what it ends up being wasn’t what people were expecting.
Regardless, thank you so much for your support over the years. I am truly honored to be a part of a welcoming community like the indie space, and I hope you’ll continue to support the artists who helped make it all possible, and Lumi as well. Thank you!
