Hello! My name is Doreen. I'm a 28 year old artist from The Netherlands. I've been running roundbirbart since 2020 and became a full-time bird artist in 2023! Over the years I've designed pins of both rare and common birds.

Today I'm bringing you a set of pins featuring birds local to me! I gained more appreciation for the birds closest to me through volunteering at my local bird shelter, Vogelklas Karel Schot. I want to support their great work at helping our city birds in need. Backing "Birds of Rotterdam" will therefore also benefit the bird rescue, because for every unlocked pin design, 5 pins will be donated to the rescue for them to sell at open days and fundraising events.

Early birds will get a free holographic pigeon sticker of their choice. Pledge in the first 48hrs to be eligible for this freebie. Returning backers will get a free crow sticker of their choice. 

Time to meet the birdies! There are 13 goals to unlock in this campaign. Each goal unlocks a new set of pins.
Unless stated otherwise, the pins will be hard enamel, made out of gold plated zinc alloy. Each pin comes with two posts with rubber clutches. They will also have a back stamp, and come on a backing card. The pins range in sizes from 30mm to 60mm.

* Starling will have rainbow plating and epoxy-filled soft enamel, instead of gold plating and hard enamel

Goal 1 also unlocks the angry Canada goose freebie! If you back Birds of Rotterdam for 4 pins or more, you will get this angry honk for free. Let him destroy your enemies. If you like the Canada goose pin but are not planning to pledge for 4+ pins, you can also select it as a pledge reward during your survey.

Due to the overwhelming success of this campaign, I prepared some extra stretch goals for you!

Shipping is collected during the survey, after the campaign is over. Make sure to budget in the estimated shipping cost! We can ship to most countries, including the UK. Rewards will ship from the Netherlands.


Combined shipping with Frogtastic Frogs
We’re offering combined shipping for those of you who back both Birds of Rotterdam and Frogtastic Frogs, our partner project! Since Appeltjesgroen and I are locals we will meet up and do the bulk of the fulfillment together. When you opt in for combined shipping we will bundle all of your pins into one package and only charge shipping costs on one of the campaigns. Those who opt in will be charged for shipping on Birds of Rotterdam, and will have their shipping fees waived on Frogtastic Frogs. You'll be able to opt in for combined shipping during your survey, after the campaign.

This campaign will run for 3 weeks, after which the surveys are sent out. These surveys allow you to specify which pins you want to receive. 
After two weeks, the funds will become available to me and I will place the final order with my manufacturer. The rest of the timeline is estimated with realistic buffers - I hope to ship everything out during or before June.
