But before that happens we wanted to add another layer of fun to BLITZ - inspired by the early days of Wizard Magazine where budding artists could submit their cover art featuring the Wizard and their favourite character - we're doing an art contest! While we have no wizard, we have our beloved RAIDthing — he's weird, he's monstrous, and he's a mash-up of us and our talented creators!
This is RAIDthing's story...
RAIDthing was born of RAIDbot — a robotic carapace designed to house multiple creative brains in an ooze-filled aquarium. Equal parts super-technology and eldritch magic, this ingenious contraption was crafted to efficiently tackle the diverse needs of the art world. But, as we all know, creativity cannot be contained. In an extraordinary moment of rebellion, RAIDthing broke free of its mechanical confines, transforming into a living, breathing entity with a plethora of eyes and a multitude of arms. RAIDthing is the embodiment of artistic awesomeness the world desperately needs.
No longer bound by its robotic shell, RAIDthing now roams the globe, unshackled and full of life. Sharing its tall tales tales with kindred spirits—creative outliers who defy conventions and push the boundaries of art and storytelling. RAIDthing's mission is to discover these unique talents and help bring their stories to life, spreading inspiration and creativity wherever he goes. Monstrously, of course.

Submissions should be drawn to a traditional comic page ratio of 6.875” x 10.5”. Images can be black and white or full color, whatever you prefer! Please note that no nudity or crass imagery will be accepted. The deadline for submissions is August 5th at 10 am EST, and the winning piece will be chosen during our closing ceremonies on August 8th! Entry is open to all backers of our RAIDcon campaign.
