This last four or five days has been rough for me, I've been sick and not able to work much. But Friday, before I came down with sudden lay-in-bed-itis, Glammy and I went on a journey!
(First off, if you haven't backed yet-- what are you waiting for? If even just 10% of our project followers become backers, we'll be fully funded! So come take a look at what you're missing, friends!)
Glammy at ReCreative
Our new friend Tobi! What cool earrings and glasses!!
We started our journey off at ReCreative, a local Denver business that has studio space (?!), used art supplies, and a really cool vibe. We made a new friend named Tobi (we aren't sure how Tobi's name is spelled, but Glammy thinks with an 'i'), found lots of cool fabrics, and got our hands into things all over
Wow, Glammy feels at home among the fabrics. Wonder why...
Staple removers?? What do you need those for, Glam?
After that, we decided we needed to get some grub in our tummies. Since we were already this far North, we decided to visit another Denver spot, Tocabe! This self titled Native American Eatery has incredible fry bread tacos that are really just to die for. Chicken, beans, queso, chipotle and cream, and this dish is easily eaten in its entirety.
Tocabe-bound!
Oh my gosh, fry bread taco!
And after we were done, we were given a dessert for free in a box labeled 'armadillo'-- these are good people! Yummy yummy. And come to think of it, the extra desert is still in my car since I haven't driven anywhere lately!
Glammy, that was mine!
Dessert just for the armadillo??
From here, it was time to earn off all the calories we just ate with some time at the climbing gym. Movement is my gym, and I love how great they keep the facilities. Now, I've been too busy to climb for a bit so this was a harder time than I was ready for. But Glammy had no issues at all! Chalking up those paws, Glammy went flying up the wall in no time!
The RiNo Movement! The best one for bouldering.
Chalk those claws, bud.
Wow, already going for the overhang?
Hey, when did you get up here??
After a good workout, well, it seemed time to visit some more fun things that can be done safely on the ground! So we visited the great Denver game and fun store, The Wizard's Chest! This place was amazing, and our new friend Sophie gave us free reign of the store. We checked up upstairs and down, costumes, board games, card games, miniatures, and so much more.
The Wizard's Chest
Sophie, our new friend!
Wow the stairs down into the games are cool!
Another angle, is this an album cover?
AVIDIKADIVI
Even spotted some games from our friends Banana Chan and Evil Hat!
This has been a whirlwind of a day already, perhaps we need another break, this time at a place that isn't usually very busy this early in the day! We visited Denver Sweet just down the road, a local gay bar that hosts great events and has this awesome mural outside!
Denver Sweet
Neon sign... .pretty...... o_o
What is that jar of pickles for??
A bench made of grass? Sounds like a nice place in the summer!
A drink just for Glammy!
The awesome mural about how together, we can end HIV!
The managers and owner were there while we were, and they were super kind to us, letting us pop upstairs and take a look at the patio while it was completely empty! Pretty different from an average night on the weekends, that's for sure! While their kitchen was open, we decided to eat a bit closer to home down in the Denver Tech Center, and headed out towards a favorite, Darcy's Pub. On the way, I made a stop at the local ARC for some thrifting goodies for pictures later down the line with new oracle dice, but for now... Dinner!
Darcy's Bistro & Pub
Okay, I'm at the meeting place... where is everyone?
A heaping plate of chicken!
Oooh let's get a window decal for home!
A heaping plate of delicious chicken tenders, the best fries in the area, and the BEST ranch of anywhere, we actually had a great chat with the couple next to us, who were curious about Glammy and, it turned out, the husband was one of the animators for Veggietales back in the day! Go figure!
By this point, Glammy and I were exhausted. Glammy is doing good today, but it turned out I was coming down with something all day and the exhaustion of the big adventure has taken its toll on me!
Where will you take YOUR Glammy when you get him in your life?
Don't forget that Glammy is just the tip of the iceberg, too! This project is stacked with amazing goodies!
The Bag at the Gym
So next time you're heading to the climbing gym, don't forget to take your glamordillo ita bag, pins, and of course, Glammy himself!
Thanks for being here, friends! Now I think I've earned another afternoon in bed recuperating.
