The galaxy is an enormous space, devoid
of heat and mass. While many star-crossed
lovers desperately want to be reunited,
others who crave solitude are content
simply being by themselves.

Astronomical is a 2-player RPG zine played with dice and cards. In it, players explore relationships between people separated on distant planets. The game comes with two A6-sized 8-page zines. No GM. No prep.

This is also a Press Pot Games RPG Zine reprint campaign. By backing this, more copies of Our Innermost Thoughts, this world is not yours, the Portal at Hill House, and Reunification will be available.

In Astronomical, each player receives their own 8-page zine. While many of the rules are the same, the outcomes, prompts, and idea generating are specific to the zine. By using a table, 12 six-sided dice, a deck of cards, and some sticky notes or index cards, players use the zines to explore the relationships across distant galaxies.

Step One: Grab your Zine
>
Both zines are 40% the same and 60% different. They provide both the same and unique instructions and prompts for each player. One is turquoise and the other is purple. It's easy to distinguish between the two.

Step Two: Roll Dice
> The 12 dice you roll represent planets in space. More importantly, the represent people on planets in space. Dice that are rolled as pairs are long-lost lovers. Dice that have no matching die face are people perfectly content being alone.

Step Three: Follow the rules of die selection and prompt-writing
>
Choose a die, use the cards to choose a prompt, and write a small 2-3 sentence letter from the person on that planet.

Continue until all 12 dice have been chosen and written about, then discover the fate of these worlds.

This is also a Press Pot Games RPG Zine reprint campaign. By backing this, more copies of Our Innermost Thoughts, this world is not yours, the Portal at Hill House, and Reunification will be available. While Portal remains mostly in stock, the others don't. In order to produce larger print runs, I thought this would be a good way to 1) raise the funds to print and 2) get more of these titles into the world.
