How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

What is Ghoul Thrasher?
Ghoul Thrasher is a retro-inspired dungeon crawler for the Gameboy, blending rogue-lite mechanics with randomly generated levels. You take on the role of Gnargoth, a peasant thrust into the decaying Citadel Sinystera, battling against ghouls, mad mages, and nightmarish creatures that have overrun the land. With dark fantasy pixel art and intense combat, Ghoul Thrasher captures the nostalgic charm of old-school gaming while introducing fresh, innovative gameplay.

When will I get my rewards?
Once the campaign closes and is fully funded, production will begin. We will keep all backers updated on the progress of the physical cartridges, packaging, and other rewards. Expect regular updates on production and shipping timelines. We estimate that we will be ready to ship in the first quarter of 2025!
Will Ghoul Thrasher be available digitally?
Yes, Ghoul Thrasher will be available as a digital download for those who prefer to play on an emulator. Backers who select digital rewards will be able to download the game when it is officially released and we start shipping physical rewards. Estimated first quarter of 2025!
How is the game shipped?
We will ship all physical items through USPS Ground within the United States. Shipping and handling charges will be calculated and charged at the time of release. You will receive updates on production and shipping via email.
Where do you ship to?
We will fulfill international shipping with some exceptions at an extra charge, this will be calculated and charged upon release. However, digital orders will be available worldwide and will be emailed with the download link at the same time that physical fulfillment goes out.
Estimated Shipping Costs
We aim to ship rewards as efficiently as possible. Shipping costs will be calculated after the campaign via the Pledge Manager. Here’s what you can expect: Estimated Costs: USA: $8-12 International: $15-25 Shipping Timeline: Fulfillment begins March 2025, with updates provided throughout the process.
Can I refund my pledge?
We do not offer refunds for this campaign. However, add-ons and their shipping fees can be refunded within 30 days. If you experience any issues, feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to assist you.

Will my name be in the credits?
Yes! Depending on your pledge level, your name will be featured in the credits: Undead Adventurer Tier and above: Your name will appear under Supporters. Ghoul Hunter Tier and above: Your name will appear under Knight Supporters. Scythe Master and Citadel Conqueror Tiers: Your name will appear under Champion Supporters and Legend Supporters, respectively. We’ll reach out via email after the campaign ends to confirm your preferred name.
Who is Skinner, and what’s his role in this project?
Skinner is an acclaimed artist known for his work with bands like Mastodon. For Ghoul Thrasher, he’s contributed an exclusive fold-out poster featured in the collector’s edition. Can I still support if I don’t pledge financially?
Absolutely! Even if you can’t pledge, you can still help us by sharing our campaign with your friends, family, and fellow retro gaming fans. Every share helps us reach new adventurers and grow our community.
Pay Over Time Option
We understand that big pledges can be daunting, so we’re offering a Pay Over Time option for all pledge levels over $150. This feature allows you to split your payment into four equal installments, making it easier to manage your pledge while still securing your rewards. No hidden fees—just more flexibility! Simply select Pay Over Time at checkout when you back the project.
