Welcome to the flying city of Aela.

Aela is a flying city that takes the appearance of a towering metropolis perched atop a 15-mile-wide spoked gear, below which hangs a hunk of stone resembling an upside-down mountain. Aela is powered by both magic and machinery, having discovered the industrial powerhouse of the steam engine within the past 500 years. The landscape, culture, and aesthetic of Aela resemble a mix of the American Industrial Revolution, the Roaring 20s, the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and semi-futuristic fantasy.

Great measures have been taken to conceal Aela from the world below. All sentient creatures that find themselves within Aela are obliged to take a mysterious arcane vow to never speak of the city to the world below. Regardless of the numerous precautions, occasional rumors of Aela’s existence still circulate the surface world. Aela is inhabited by Batfolk, Steamwelds, and many varieties of Birdfolk, in addition to the more standard heritages.

  • Districts within the topside of Aela: The Axle, The Broadforge, The Aviaries, The Bronze Borough, The Dock Ward, and Arcanist's Row
  • The Undercity, where strange creatures prowl and the reclusive Batfolk Pray within intricate upside-down temples.
  • The Skyfields, a collection of levitating aeroponic fields that feed the city
  • Zatar, another flying city ruled by a brutal dragon with an iron fist, who seeks to steal Aela’s technology to bioengineer the perfect organism
  • Rustmourn, a group of radical, anti-technology druids intent on using rust magic to destroy Aela, which they see as an affront to nature
  • Eldingar, a secretive sect of mutant vampires living within an eternal storm, who seek to prey upon Aela
  • Prometar, a villainous historical figure who created the Steamwelds and tried to seize power during their uprising, lives on as a mechanical lich plotting his revenge against Aela
  • MantiCorp, a sinister weapons manufacturing conglomerate intent on militarizing Aela’s police and spreading weapons of mass destruction to the world below, all for financial gain

Add-on Dice

To keep things streamlined and accessible, we’re packing all Overclock content into one comprehensive book—no extra supplements needed! However, what would a campaign be without plenty of dice to roll? Backers can choose from several exclusive dice sets as add-ons for the campaign, each one tailored to match Overclock’s steampunk aesthetic. From metallic-gear designs to intricate clockwork detailing, these dice add a stylish, thematic touch to your gameplay, making every roll as memorable as the world of Aela itself.

Given the variety of components in this project and constantly changing economic climate, exact postage estimates are challenging. Generally, US orders containing only books will be eligible to ship via media mail, while international orders will use the most economical available method.
