Welcome to the Monster Makerspace! Makerspaces provide the tools and resources to work on creative projects, learn new skills, and bring the community together. You can get your stitch fix in the sewing studio, whittle away time in the woodshop, get wired about the electronics lab, and explore! This enamel pin collection features a crafty cast of characters inspired by puppetry arts.
This campaign will include ten enamel pin designs themed around the different areas in the makerspace. The Makerspace Map will be updated as designs are unlocked. Backers will get to vote throughout the campaign on which part of the makerspace to fund next!
The campaign goal is $800, which will unlock the first full size pin design, all mini pins, and freebie stickers. Every additional $200 will unlock a new full size pin design.
The ten pin designs are inspired by puppetry arts and the work of Jim Henson. Each design represents a different hobby commonly found in makerspaces. The designs include: 3D printing, arts and crafts, bike shop, electronics, fiber arts, metal shop, photography, pottery, sewing, and woodshop.
The 3D printing lab has the machines to bring your digital designs to life! Relax to the buzz and hum of the 3D printers as you watch plastic filament become tools, sculptures, jewelry, and more. If anything breaks, Phil (the resident ooze) will be able to get it fixed for you.
The arts and crafts room is stocked with everything you need to get your creative juices flowing! Come here to flush out your sketch your ideas, craft a colorful collage, or make a masterpiece. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Scribz, the craft goblin, can show you around.
If you’re a budding bicycle enthusiast, the Bike Shop is the place for you! This area is equipped with everything you need to fix a flat or build from scratch. While you’re there, you’ll probably find The Spokes - a fuzzy blue cycling team that keeps everyone rolling along.
It’s alive! At least... it will be once you’ve powered it on. The electronics lab has all the tools you need to repair a computer, build a robot, or soldier up the wires on your latest project. If you need help, Gizmo is a master at circuitry (but he only works on android devices).
The Fiber Arts area is a great place to cozy up with some yarn and work on your next knitting or crochet project. When you go to grab your supplies, watch out for Pluff! That fuzzy little fiend often sneaks into the yarn baskets for an afternoon nap.
Embrace your inner blacksmith by picking up a project in the metal shop! Here you can learn practical welding skills or forge a piece of fine jewelry. If you aren’t sure where to start, Bellows the dragon can help you get fired up.
If you’re looking to take new headshots or hone in your landscape photography, the photography studio is the place for you. Just grab some gear and snap to it! Don’t get spooked if you see a mysterious flash - Vamp likes to lurk around behind the cameras.
Get your hands dirty in the pottery studio! Here you'll find an assortment of clay, tools, and even a kiln to fire your pieces. Frazz is usually running around helping to keep things tidy and teach new potters.
Whether you're hoping to hem your pants or create a new quilt, the sewing studio is the spot for you! While you're stitching you'll probably see Henry - a friendly monster who loves to upcycle scrap fabric and clothes.
The wood shop has plenty of tools to cut, carve, sand, and stain your way through your next project. Just pick a workbench and get started! If you need anything, Woody is always happy provide dad jokes and a helping hand.
Every backer will receive a 3" vinyl sticker freebie with their rewards.
