How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

How do I get the Cryptozoology Bookcase pin?
The Cryptozoology Bookcase is my cross collaboration pin! I've partnered with Violet Magician and we've each created a special pin that blends together the themes of our campaigns. Backers who support both campaigns receive a cross collaboration pin from each of us for free.
Will the Cryptozoology Bookcase be available as an add-on item?
The Cryptozoology Bookcase pin is a collaboration exclusive item you can earn by backing both Made by Max Designs and Violet Magician's campaigns during Pintopia! When you back both campaigns, you'll receive a full size exclusive pin from each of us. This pin will NOT be available as an add-on during the campaign. Go support Violet Magician's Cryptid Carousel - Pride Flag Edition campaigns: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/violet-magician/cryptid-carousel-pride-flag-edition Leftovers from the campaign may be available on Max's website/Etsy after pledges fulfill, but they'll cost at least $20 + shipping. Backing a pin from Violet Magician's campaign to receive two free pins would only cost $16 + shipping. 😉
Will the Cryptozoology Mini Bookshelf be available as part of my pledge?
Yes! The 1" Cryptozoology mini bookcase pin will be an option for any pledge or add-on item that includes a Bookshelf Mini Pin.
Will the bonus Bookcase designs be included in the Bookcase Vinyl Sticker Set add-on?
Yes! I am able to include the Cryptozoology, Banned Books, Arts and Crafts, and Spicy Romance Bookcase stickers to the "Bookcase Vinyl Sticker Set" add-on for no additional charge. That means you can get 14 waterproof 3.5" vinyl stickers for $30!
Will the freebie sticker sheet include the Bookshelves from the bonus genres?
Yes! I will be adding the Cryptozoology, Banned Books, Arts and Crafts, and and Spicy Romance Mini Bookshelf designs to the sticker sheet that will be included as a freebie for all pledges.
Will there be additional bookmark designs?
Unfortunately I don't have time to create bookmark designs for all of the genres by the end of the campaign. The five bookmark designs that will be available are: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, LGBTQ+, and Gardening.
Will the bonus genres be included in the "Library" and "Complete Collection" pledge tiers?
The "Library" and "Complete Collection" pledge levels are both quantity based and include 10 mini pins and 10 full sized pins. You will be able to select from any of the available designs, including the added Banned Books, Arts and Crafts, and Spicy Romance genres or the Cryptozoology Mini Bookshelf Pin. Because of the cost of pins, I'm unable to add all of the bonus genres to these pledge levels for free. I know a most folks at these tiers were hoping to get everything, so I'll be offering a steeply discounted "Expansion Pack" to close the gap. The Expansion Pack will cost $60 and include 3 full size pins, 4 mini pins, and three Bookcase stickers. This will allow you get select one of everything if you want! Expansion packs will be limited to 1 per person and will only be available to backers at the Library or Complete Collection tiers.
