Fashion is cyclical, and sometimes the hottest old-is-new look is bringing the late-80s back by wearing a dead salmon on your head like the coolest kids in the pod. Salmon Fashionaka "Killer Style" - Back in 1987, a Puget Sound orca made waves with her impeccable fashion sense when she draped a dead salmon on her head and made it all the rage.

Silly jokes bring that dad energy. Hats will be semi-structured in black linen with a snapback or metal clasp. Design will be embroidered on the front and I have secured a manufacturer who can do a custom color under the brim to match the design.Â
The Hoodie
Complete the look with a Bella + Canvas zip-front hoodie in black with white zip and strings. Hoodies will be screenprinted with a large graphic on the back and a small placement on the left front chest: little fish bones on the Salmon Fashion hoodie and text that reads "sink the rich" for the Rock Yachts hoodie.
Why this project?
My favorite cap was made by a fellow indie artist years ago with a custom yellow underbrim (see below!) and a nod to the "same hat" meme embroidered on the front. I get compliments on it all the time and it's really fun when people who know the joke see it. I love it a lot, but I need to mix it up because admittedly yellow does not go with everything. So, I thought why not make my own hat with orca memes, and teal, and hey, maybe other folks would want to wear it too!

Despite keeping this small and manageable, I do have a few stretch goals to make things more exciting in case people really like my silly little designs.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the shipping and manufacturing process, these estimates are subject to change in either direction. As I've done on my other campaigns, I'll be sure to send progress updates regularly until fulfilled.
Late October 2024: Campaign ends, and funds from Backerkit will be received 2-3 weeks after.

December: Production will start with an estimated 4-10 weeks of production time (anticipating some slowdown for Lunar New Year)

Shipping will be via USPS First Class with tracking or USPS Priority Mail insured for larger orders or international shipments; costs are subject to change based on USPS rates at the time of shipping. Depending on the size of this campaign, I will once again be fulfilling with the help of Carrie Alyson | Aspenhearted and sending all rewards to US & Canadian backers out through her studio in Washington state OR utilizing the kitting and fulfillment options of the embroiderer.

For backers outside of the US & Canada:
Backers outside of the US & Canada, I love you, but am unable to ship internationally at this time.
It's important to understand that this is a crowdfunded campaign and your pledge is an upfront investment in the project and products—this is not an online store and you will not immediately receive your rewards after pledging.Â
Once the campaign ends you will be charged for your selected Pledge Level plus any Add-ons purchased during the campaign. I will receive the money from Backerkit around two weeks after the campaign ends, and backers will receive a Pledge Survey to choose their rewards and purchase any additional items they choose. Additional purchases and shipping charges will be processed separately and charged closer to fulfillment.
Once the majority of the surveys are in, production on the reward items will begin. Please note that minor changes to items may occur in production, and that the images presented here are mockup designs. There is a possibility of slight changes in color and size in the physical item.
The timeline above is an estimate based on past crowdfunded enamel pin campaigns that I've completed and apparel I've designed, and is subject to change. I will always be upfront with backers along the way, and I will disclose any setbacks, delays, and any other pertinent updates.
While this is the first time I have produced a hat with custom styling in addition to embroidery, this will be my third crowdfunding campaign that I've led or co-led, and I anticipate successfully fulfilling and delivering rewards to all backers.
