πΊ pass through the draping curtain of twisting vines and still stone columns to enter the orchard of the divine...
Decadent Orchard is a project inspired by still life and myth, aiming to capture a very specific aesthetic. This collection is all about celebrating the beauty of nature in fruit-bearing trees and the self-indulgence of their harvest. In beauty and decadence alike, all that is experienced is visceral and dark, untamed and exalted.
The project is organized into three "suites" that put the spotlight on three fruits in particular-- pomegranates, figs, and oranges. Each of these 'suites' features a bough, cut fruit, and blossom and will be unlocked as a group!
POMEGRANATE β’ unlocks at $1400
> Punica granatum The pomegranate is a fruit that is steeped in history, symbolism, and myth. They call to mind abundance, indulgence, are a symbol fertility, and play a role in many myths-- most notably, that of Hades and Persephone. The red fruit, and vibrant, blood-red seeds hidden within are a captivating subject and beautiful plant.
ORANGE β’ unlocks at $2600
> Citrus Γ sinensis The large baseball-sized oranges as we know them are actually a hybrid species, created from a cross of the pomelo (Citrus maxima) and mandarin (Citrus reticulata). Citrus taxonomy is a fascinating web, and well worth looking into if it strikes your fancy. Mandarins are considered one of the handful of citrus species that are ancestral, wild varieties of fruit. There are countless varieties and hybrids of oranges, each cultivar serving a slightly different aim or region. The fruit, leaves, blossoms, and wood of the orange are all used for culinary (and more) purposes.
FIG β’ unlocks at $3800
> Ficus carica Interestingly enough, the fruit of the fig tree is itself the flowers, albeit, inverted. This form is known as a syconium, an outer fleshy body encases multiple inner ovaries. These tiny flowers bloom within the body of the fruit, pollinated by wasps. Fig wasps, to be precise, evolved alongside the fig as their primary pollinator, crawling through the tiny ostiole that opens at the bottom of the fruit, not knowing whether or not the fruit is a caprifig (hermaphrodite fruit) or fig (female fruit). If it is a caprifig, the female wasp will be able to lay her eggs and promptly die. The eggs will hatch in the safety of the caprifig, where the male insects will mate with the female insects, create tunnels out of the fruit, and die, having completed their role in the cycle. The females fig wasps, covered in the pollen of their nursery fig, crawl out and fly to another fruit they will enter. This is a one way trip for the wasp, as making it through the ostiole results in her wings being rent from her body. If the wasp has crawled into a female fig it will be unable to lay the eggs, but, the pollen from the nursery fruit will fertilize the fig. The wasp dies, and is fully absorbed and broken down by the plant. Something so delicate is born of a process so gruesome.
For Pintopia 2025, Decadent Orchard is partnered with Abysmal Kaiju's Deep Sea Mermaids campaign! I'm very excited to get to partner with them for this event, we've been existing in the same space for a while now, and have supported each other's projects back and forth for a few years now!
We've each created pins that complement the partner campaign, which will be exclusive freebies for anyone who backs bothDecadent OrchardandDeep Sea Mermaids! My design is this seashell resting on a bed of kelp, and you should absolutely head over to the mermaids to see their adorable pomegranate dryad pin!
During the campaign, you can pledge to support the project at any of the open pledge levels! Remember, you will not be charged for just your pledge until the campaign has ended (provided it is successful).
βΊ You are able to adjust and edit your pledge at any time during the active campaign.
After the campaign has ended, you will receive your surveys from Backerkit to select your chosen designs and calculate shipping costs. Shipping costs are paid upon finalization of surveys, separate from your initial pledge. You will also have the option to choose any additional add-ons during your survey, such as other pins or products!
ββββ The campaign ends, and backers are charged.

SHIPPING β¦ FINAL QUARTER OF THE YEAR

βΊ Timeline is a rough estimate and subject to change to delays or unexpected hiccups along the way. Fulfillment time for both manufacturing and sending out rewards may end up longer due to quantity of backers/reward components.
Shipping costs will be charged AFTER the campaign ends, through your Backerkit survey. US backers can expect to receive their pins within 2-8 business days of ship date, and will not receive a tracking number as they are a hassle to wrangle for every backer in these large projects. International backers will receive a tracking number as international shipping tends to be more uncertain, and can expect to receive the product within 2-8 weeks of ship date.

Designs may be altered during production (if they are, there will be an update) and colors may look slightly different than what you see on your screen, as they are a physical object vs. a digital asset. I do my best to match the digital/screen color with physical Pantone swatches to provide as much accuracy as one can manage for the mockups. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask! With many aspects of this type of work often out of my hands, delays are very possible, along with expected on my end at this point, but will not impact the quality of the product you will receive! Shipping time is the most affected by the circumstances, and you will be updated with any significant changes to the timeline.
Hello, hello! Iβm Odessa, also known to some as Crow-- the artist, creator, and cryptid behind Key & Crow Studios and this campaign! I am a queer, disabled, and chronically ill creator, coming to you from a strange liminal era in my life due to a string of health issues, pandemic complications, and other events. Iβve been in the pin business for three years now, learning the ins and outs of the process for pin design and production, not to mention running and managing crowdfunding campaigns. Iβm thrilled to be participating in Pintopia, since the pin world has become my professional home!
Perfectly Normal Deer was my first foray into making enamel pins in March of 2021; the project I cut my teeth on and smoothed out the wrinkles in my process. It included five hard enamel pins, a sticker, and an acrylic charm.
The Tastefully Spooky Collection was my second successful campaign, which ran in September of 2021 to tune of funding all goals in just 48 hours! The collection includes four large hard enamel pins, three mini pins, two stickers, an acrylic charm, washi tape, and a tote bag design, and a small army of custom ghosts. This collection is inspired by the first garden ghost I made; I absolutely fell in love with the whole vibe and wanted to expand upon them, drawing further inspiration from the Art Nouveau style.
In March of 2022 I launched my third project, Flock, which was my chance to explore more product options and possibilities for the medium of the enamel pin, and I had an amazing time with it. Flock is a large, collectorβs sized hard enamel pin paying homage to the painting Iβve more than internalized in my time on this earth. Anton Mauveβs 1894 oil on board, Shepherd and Sheep, housed at the Cincinnati Art Museum has been an ever-present image in my life, a work that Iβm almost certain has influenced my personal sense of aesthetic and sensibilities as an artist. I consider Flock to be something of a love letter to my past self, nostalgia, magical overcast skies, and the feeling of exploring an all but deserted art museum for the first time as a child with wide eyes, discovering something that will make its home in your heart for years to come.
Autumn of 2022 saw the Retro Spooky project, inspired by the Halloweens of yore, heavily focusing on retro and vintage spooky ephemera and media, drawing upon our collective nostalgia for this special time of year. Costume photos taken on disposable cameras, Halloween tv specials, the annual excursion to the pumpkin patch, the βiconicβ aspects of the season.
Late 2023 was a return to familiar spooks, with theTastefully Spooky Collection Restock Campaignβ Garden Ghost pins continue to be the star of the Key & Crow portfolio. This campaign also introduced the brand new Vampiric Visage pin, which is perhaps one of my favorite designs to date.
2024 was a big year for Key & Crow, seeing both our inaugural Pintopia project, Foxwright Apothecary, and first Pride campaign, Foxwright Apothecary: Pride Potions. Both of these projects are incredibly important to myself as a creator and artist putting my work out into the world. The world of the Foxwright Apothecary is now far larger than I could have ever imagined.
