Summary

Seigaiha. The Japanese pattern of blue seas and waves. I've always admired this pattern and wanted to incorporate it on my lineup of magnet projects.

These are 1" diameter CNC machined copper magnets housings that have a rare earth magnet bolted in from the bottom. A felt pad covers the magnet to help dampen the impact on the attracted surface. Engraved on top is a Seigaiha pattern which is blasted for a matte finish and blackened with an acid wash. Two finishes are offered in this project, patina with stone wash or satin sealed.

Features

  • Machined from solid copper billet rod
  • Powerful rare earth magnet 33 lb pull force (feels more like 10 lb, strong but not ridiculously strong)
  • Magnet is bolted in from the bottom making it easy to swap out in the event a new magnet is needed, or if you want to put something in besides a magnet.
  • Adhesive felt pad protects surface magnet is used on
  • Two finishes, patina with stone wash or satin sealed. The seal will be either a lacquer seal or a clear Cerakote, whichever looks nicer. The photos are the lacquer seal. Both have the Seigaiha acid washed for a high contrast look.
  • Made in the USA (in my humble shop!)
