Jackalopes are mythical creatures of North American folklore with the body of a hare or jackrabbit, and antelope horns or deer-like antlers. Often described as unfriendly, wild creatures, they were rumored to attack humans’ legs with their antlers, but could possibly be calmed if offered whiskey. Some swear these creatures can imitate human voices, and have heard a jackalope singing along with them around campfires.

Dragons are perhaps one of the most popular and wide-spread mythological creatures in the world, spanning cultures across the globe. Dragons of Eastern Asian mythology are often described as having scaled, snakelike bodies with horns and claws. Even without wings, they can take flight, and are associated with weather and the seasons, and rule over lakes, rivers, and seas.

Unicorns are legendary beasts of European folklore, described somewhat as a horse-like or goat-like creature, always with a large, pointed and spiraled horn from its forehead. Most commonly, it is depicted as a wild and shy woodland creature as well as a symbol of purity and innocence, and can only be tamed by someone of equal innocence and pureness of heart. Some sources claim its horn can purify poisoned water and heal sickness.

Bake-Danuki are a shape-shifting creature of Japanese folklore resembling a raccoon-dog. Instead of using their abilities to trick humans, bake-danuki do so to make humans appear foolish, or simply because they enjoy changing their form. They are often recognizable from their large hats they don to protect against trouble and bad weather, and their large bellies they use as a drum.

Kitsune are tricksome fox-like shapeshifters of Japanese folklore, often depicted with one, five, seven, or nine tails as their wisdom and power increases. Their powers are numerous, but they have said to be able to call lightning and fire into existence, and to bend dreams and illusions to their will. Sometimes worshiped as a deities, kitsune are portrayed as tricksters, but also as protectors, lovers, and true friends. It is said that if startled, a kitsune shapeshifting as a human may drop their mask and reveal their true nature.
