A collection of wearable art by Emerald Barkley, inspired by the love of bones, flowers, and neo-noir space operas.
The bright, neon colors set against the darkness of space as a visual representation of good vs evil have always felt like intense, beautiful, fevered dreams. I love the idea of these bright colors as a nod to the vibrancy that I believe we are capable of even in the deep dark of the unknown. Bones and flowers are often the main characters in my work as a vehicle to talk about embracing joy and beauty during radical transformation.
Stickers of the Fever Dream artwork are free for the backers who sign up and pledge in the first 48 hours.
Stickers are holographic with a satin-matte finish. Indoors they look like beautiful, shiny stickers, but in the direct sun they light up like rainbow fire.
Travel to new, dark-synth dimensions of time and space with these bitchin’ enamel pins. Pins are hard-enamel and gold finished for beautiful shine and include seven colors in the Fever Dream palette. Each pin is 1.75” long.
Our Deepest Spaces Glow Like A Hundred Thousand Stars Pin: This pin is based on a painting from several years ago, and is about how when we take up unapologetic space for radical kindness and beauty, the light from our hearts shines through our eyes.
Fever Dream Pin: created especially for this collection. Luscious flowers crown two skulls with brightly glowing eyes. This pin plays on the same themes as its sister pin, asking “How can we use our kindness to be an unyielding light in the dark?”

Why Bella + Canvas?
Even though they are a little pricier, I am choosing Bella + Canvas garments because I love their quality and their commitment to conducting business in a socially responsible and ethical manner.
SCREENPRINTING
I will be working with a local screen printer, JG Graphics, for the screen printing of Fever Dream. I have worked with them several times before (in fact they have done all of my screen printing!) and they continue to provide great service and great quality graphics.
Feb 27 – March 12: Credit cards are charged, surveys go out to backers
March 12 – May 7: Manufacturing
May 7 – May 31: Fulfillment
I have worked with all of these manufacturers previously, and while I anticipate being able to ship sooner than May 2024, I want to create a margin for error just in case.
While this is my first crowdfunding campaign and this particular process is new to me, this is not my first time working with these manufacturers. The art is complete and ready to go, and I have quotes ready to go with each vendor.
I believe that the biggest challenge with this campaign will be garment supply. At the time that I am writing this, this sweatshirt is sufficiently in stock – but that could change over the course of the campaign. In the event that a size, or a few sizes, are no longer available once the campaign ends, I will work directly with the factory to deliver an updated timeline to backers.
Hi hello! My name is Emerald, and I am a non-binary watercolor artist in northern California. I love to use my work as a visual metaphor for death cycles, interconnectedness, and radical beauty and kindness. Welcome to my first crowdfunding campaign!
