BackerKit FAQ
How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.
To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.
All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.
Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.
Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.
What happens after the campaign is over?
The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.
Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.
Project FAQ
What is DCC RPG?
DCC RPG stands for Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game. DCC RPG is published by www.GoodmanGames.com and is an excellent RPG that captures some of the old school feel of adventure gaming coupled with some more modern design choices. If you are totally new to RPGs, this is a great system to start with because it is very easy to learn and supported with a tremendous catalog of adventures and settings.
Do these adventures have all the XP needed to get to level 5?
If you are following rules-as-written for XP and leveling, these adventures are not large enough on their own to get PCs all the way up to level 5. Judges may wish to either adjust the pace of leveling for a faster paced campaigns. However, the book will include an Appendix: O (Other Adventures). This appendix entry will contain a list of 1st and 3rd party DCC adventures that thematically fit with The Conquest of Chaos. In a larger campaign, adventures within The Conquest of Chaos would be considered "touchstone" adventures.
Can I get another Dragon Peak Publishing product?
Yes, but you have to wait until after the campaign ends! Once it's over, we'll offer various PDF and physical products.
Where are the stretch goals?
For stretch goals on the BackerKit platform, click the "Community" tab at top of the project, then look at the "Achievements" section or on the Campaign page.
Was AI used in this project?
Not in the slightest. Everything is crafted by the human mind.
Do I count as a "previous backer" for that free sticker?
I am able to cross-reference Kickstarter campaigns that I was the "Kickstarter creator" on. If your Backerkit email is the same as your Kickstarter email, then you will automatically be added to the "free sticker" list if you backed one of the following projects: The Brimstone Cradle & The Hills That Hunger Mysteries of the Multiverse for MCC RPG Elfland: Beyond The Fields We Know (DCC RPG) The Technomancer of Candy Mountain (MCC RPG) Big Trouble For A Little Blood & Visitors To Fairhaven Bloody Barbershops & Sanguine Scissors (DCC RPG) If your Backerkit email is different, please send me a message and I will manually add you to the "free sticker" list.
How much will shipping cost and when will it happen?
Shipping will be charged during the pledge manager phase, after the fundraising campaign is completed. It is estimated around $10 for most backers. We expect products to ship by the end of July 2025. Due to complexity of international shipping, we are only shipping within the USA. The book will be later available through Goodman Games and limited retail distribution.
Will you ship outside the USA?
Due to the complexity and expense of international shipping, we cannot offer that at this time. After backers receive their books, The Conquest of Chaos should become available through Goodman Games and other retailers.
Foundry VTT details?
The Foundry VTT support will include maps, token images, and journals. The Foundry package will be available separately later via DriveThruRPG but at a price higher than the $10 add-on price.
