I wanted to send this important reminder that we will be charging credit cards on Tuesday, September 3rd, for any pre-orders, unpaid pledge balances and additional purchases from the Pledge Manager add-ons.

If you did not purchase any extra add-on items in your survey, you will not have any charges at this time! Shipping fees are going to be collected at a later date closer to fulfillment, to ensure the most cost-effective and accurate shipping prices.

I've been hard at work finalizing vector art and color swatches for manufacturing so that production can start as soon as we've got the final counts on everything.

I've also been putting the final touches on my next pin collection, launching in early October! What started as an aspirational sequel to my first collection from 2018, Calming Cats, has evolved into Coping Cats. Because sometimes we're thriving and sometimes we're just getting through it, and our furry friends can offer wisdom on both. Check out the campaign!

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update—big thanks to everyone for getting those surveys in quickly, we’re at almost 90% of the surveys in and on track to start production by the end of the month.

Surveys will be closing and we’ll be locking orders on August 15th, so there's still time to get those last few surveys in! Surveys that come in late will still be fulfilled as quantities permit, but if you want to be guaranteed to get all of your rewards please be sure to send in your survey before the lock date so we can make sure to order enough items! If you ordered add-ons from the survey, those charges will be collected starting on August 30th. Shipping will be charged closer to the fulfillment date, which will probably happen in October. I’ll keep you informed with updates and progress reports along the way!

Enough people have added on the Spanish Shawl Nudibranch and the Lined Chiton pins in their surveys to unlock them, and we’ve almost unlocked the Giant Kelp, Ringed Dorid, Green Anemone and Strawberry Anemone! There are 10 more days to go until orders close, so if you’ve been thinking about adding them to your cart we only need a few more orders to unlock them!

And I wanted to share that my friend and oft-collaborator Kim Kuzuri is also celebrating our ocean friends with a new enamel pin and hat collection featuring orcas and 80s inspired designs!

Thanks for all of your patience, everyone! If you've been waiting for your Backer Survey I've got good news—the Pledge Manager is set up and approved, so surveys are officially coming soon!

If you've been here before you probably already know what to do, but if this is your first time backing a crowdfunding campaign, keep an eye out for your Backer Survey to arrive in the email inbox that your pledge is connected to. The survey is your opportunity to claim the rewards that you've pledged for, provide your shipping address, and add on any goodies you may have missed during the live campaign.

Please be sure to fill out your surveys right away! 
Once the majority of Backers have filled out their surveys and we have a good idea of how many pins and stickers need to be made, we'll be able to get started on production and manufacturing. The sooner everyone completes their surveys, the quicker you can get your rewards!

Surveys will close on August 15th to keep production on schedule. All surveys completed by August 15th are guaranteed to be in the first round of fulfillment and will receive all of their pledged for items.
We will do our best to fulfill all surveys completed after August 15th, but rewards items are being produced in limited quantities and cannot be guaranteed.

The first batch of surveys will be going out now to a few randomly selected backers to test everything out, and once we've assured that it's all working properly the remaining surveys should be sent no later than Monday, July 15th.

Please note that we're using Backerkit's new beta feature where you will charged separately for shipping at a time closer to the fulfillment date. This feature will allow us to get the most accurate rates for postage and ensure we're giving everyone the most economical shipping prices possible.

I was especially excited to see so many returning backers—I hope that means you trust me to keep making awesome stuff! What happens next?

My job will transition from running the live campaign to finalizing artwork and prepping for production and fulfillment, and I’ll be sure to share updates with you on the process and timeline along the way. You’ll also see an update shortly before Backer Surveys go out.

Backerkit is currently collecting funds from pledges and they’ll be released to me in a couple of weeks, at which point we get started on pre-production. You’ll receive a Backer Survey in your inbox that will take you to the Pledge Manager, where you can confirm your shipping address and the rewards you’ve selected and a final opportunity to grab any add-ons you may have missed.

We crushed so many of the stretch goals but there were still a couple of pins to unlock, so by popular request they’ll be available to unlock in the Pledge Manager. If enough people want to purchase one, we’ll make it happen.

Please note that your original pledged amount and any additional purchases from the Pledge Manager will be charged separately and before the final charge for shipping fees, which will be charged closer to fulfillment. This allows us to give all of our Backers the most accurate and cost effective prices for shipping.

There's only one week left to go for Tidal Treasures! We're so close to unlocking the California Two-spot octopus pin, and there's still time to vote for which pin you want to unlock as a freebie for all backers when we reach $19k.

It's been really fun to hear which of the pin designs and creatures are your favorites, and now I want to know...

Have you ever been tide pooling? Where’s your favorite place to go?

One of my favorite places is Salt Creek Recreation Area, near Washington state’s most northern coast. Above is a photo I took of a tide pool containing purple encrusting sea sponges, black leather chitons, acorn barnacles, and an aggregate green anemone. The longer you look the more creatures you can find—can you spot anything I missed? 

Besides being home to all kinds of amazing tide pool species. Salt Creek is also just an incredibly beautiful place to visit and stay, and you absolutely can’t beat a cliffside campsite overlooking the Pacific ocean.
